Runners??

I ran 6.04 miles (I'm American - I don't know shit about
the metric system, sorry) today for the 1st time. I signed
up for a 10K race in my hometown on the spur of the moment
that is taking place April 2nd. The problem is that the race
includes two major bridges with large towers (i.e. hills)
when all my running is done in the flatlands because those
bridges are the only hills in the area. My first race - I'm
nervous but excited.

I run about 3 kms 5 or 6 times a week... It's great! If you
make it a regular habbit, and you can shit all over the
unhealthy. Plus you can go to sleep actually because of
fatigue rather than lethargy... It's a generally good
feeling, you should keep it up.

Oops - I mean its a 5K race, not a 10K. Still, 5K is damn
long for me as my usually weekly runs are ony 2K (3.2
miles).

I've always wanted to develop a jogging or running routine.
I think I will start within the next two months when the
spring weather is here. I like walking and cross-country
skiing in the winter.

Shit, I got that mile/kilometer thing wrong. I'm running a
10K race which is 6.2 miles. My normal weekly runs are 5k,
which is 3.2 miles.

1 km = Two billion american crap miles.

We have better stamina over here.

Race was this morning and great!! I woke up at 3:40 and
drank a protein shake and ate a bagel. Walked over a mile in
the pouring rain (my shoes were filled with water) in 50
degree weather at 4:30 to the buses to the starting line. At
8:00 am we started the run - fucking fun as shit. Up two 168
foot bridges and 6.2 miles. I ran it in 51:06 - not bad for
my first race. I was 250lb. less than two years ago. Anyone
can do this shit.

You mean British miles that the Americans use...miles are
well better than km anyway.

If anyone runs for fitness, I really recommend signing up
for a race, as they are actually muy muy divertido. I 've
been running for a couple of years but have never had a
desire to run a race until recently. Very different dynamic
running with thousands of other runners (42,000 at my
event!) and people lining the sidewalks cheering you on. I
still have no intention of running a marathon or anything,
but I definitely have the bug now and I'm looking for some
more 10K or even 5k events to participate in.

i went for a run tonight.

i went to jump from the sidewalk to the curb and my left
foot, caught the edge of the street pavement (which was
raised quite a bit)

my foot then bent inward (so the pinky toe was at the bottom
and the big toe was at the top) as all my body weight full
upon it. it was quite painful and i don't think i'll be
running again for about a week.

I'm running too. Message boards seem to talk about the
things I'm currently doing. Like everyone is on my wave
length.

what you dont know is that you suffer from severe multiple
personality schitzophrenia and every member on here is just
another facet of yourself.

i jog on my days off (tuesday and saturday). i usually do
ninety minutes on tuesday and two hours on saturday. a
pretty slow, relaxed pace. about eleven minutes per mile. i
dont really measure speed or distance. i just run around the
city at random until my time is up. its the only thing i
look forward to really.

i havent participated in a race yet. it doesnt really
interest me. i like to jog alone and with headphones. most
races dont allow headphone use. if i wanna jog alongside
others, i head over to the lakefront.

I've just given up running..... I was doing 8k three times a
week and was finding it too hard on my body - joints and
muscles sore and tight all the time............ I've started
swimming instead....... i'll see how that goes.
