metal gear solid...

has a sad, unfortunate story behind it. you see, hideo
kojima, the man responsible for the series, the producer,
developer, and brains behind the metal gear solid series, is
no longer doing the metal gear series. this sucks because
metal gear solid 2 had a really open ending. with hideo
kojima no longer doing metal gear solid, this means that
metal gear solid 3 may never come out to tie up the loose
ends left in mgs2, or a mgs3 might suck. who knows.

That sucks... all I've been thinking about and playing
lately are Metal Gear games... I lost the first disc of my
PS1 Metal Gear, I'm on the verge of tears. I'm on my second
playthrough of MGS2.

As for Hideo leaving, that's not too bad... I always wished
he'd leave his pretentious preachy ideas out of the games,
and ditch the melodramatics... just let me sneak around and
kill people. Great story, generally, but some of it is too
over the top. There's so many holes in the MGS2 story, and
not the good, loose end holes... just stupid things that
aren't explained, and are a little ridiculous.

mgs1 completely blew away the second game in my opinion. i
love the story bits. have you been collecting dogtags in
mgs2, ophecks?

Yeah, I'm thinking MGS1 was better, too... but I don't have
the first disc!

I haven't been collecting dog tags at all... I think I have
about 3... but after I beat it once more, I'll probably
waste my time trying to get all the dogtags and cheats.

The original is my favorite game of all time, the story was
so indepth and captivating I just couldn't put the
controller down till it was over. Unlike some of my
friends, I loved the cinematic sequences, almost as much as
the gaming experience itself.

Anyone remember the Metal Gear game for original Nintendo?

Fuck, I wanna play it again now, which is pointless because
now my fuckin game freezes up right at the end of the first
disc, after beating the cyborg ninja!

The best way to play is hard or extreme mode, without any
extras. It makes it so much more tactical and realistic,
because the map is no longer there, and you'll get killed in
like two or three hits, as you would in real life.

I hate the camera view in the original... you can't see two
fucking feet ahead of you, it used to drive me insane. And
swithing to first person view every two steps, so you don't
run into an ambush, was not fun... MGS2 improved that a bit,
I don't find it as annoying.

I'm gonna start MGS2 on the hardest setting tomorrow, I
can't wait.

And not being able to use your guns in first person view in
MGS1...

FUCK THAT!

Syphon Filter is my favorite Playstation series, slightly
ahead of MGS.

Syphon Filter 1 was very good, but the second was absolute
horse shit. Havn't played the third yet, any good?

Shit, I still haven't played the third, either... I'll have
to get it. Damn, so many games, so little money...

Yeah, the second has better gameplay, camera views,
graphics, ect. But I still like the first one better for
some reason, it had a more interesting story I thought.

I'm extremely mad my MGS2 copy has not arrived yet in the
mail. I'm going to have a stern word with
nathan_caban@aol.com!

syphon filter was a fun game. i like the fact that the 3rd
game kind of just appeared one day without anyone hardly
knowing about it.

I like Metal Gear Solid but I replayed the Syphon Filter

the remake on gamecube should be out in a couple of months.
i used to own it on playstation, bought it again when i had
dreamcast so i could play it on bleemcast and now i'm gonna
buy it again for gamecube. i hope they add something in
though, like dog tags because i've replayed the poo out of
this game.

i just watched the mgs3 trailer. looks lovely. a nice change
from the usual settings.

managed to get first place on every mission, but i still
can't get big boss ranking on mgs1, not that i've actually
tried to yet.

anyone know if big boss rank gets you anything special on vr
missions?
