free grandular fx plugins?

Hi,

I have downloaded all the Destroy FX plugins (Buffer
Override is in that package) and I'm look for free vst
effects that can fuck up drum loops and so on (grandular fx)
but which I have a large degree of control over.

I am just tired of cutting and programming effects for hours
on end to do short breakdowns and so on; such an effect
would make life easier.

Thanks.

First off, stay away from granular style effects in
vst plugins, cause they tend to do nothing other than make
your beat sound like it was made with a fart. An interesting
effect if you are a clown, but sounds stupid otherwise. If
you want an interesting granular style effect, just do some
pitch shifting with very low frequency rates.

I will include some links in a bit. i used to be able to
give people 20 usefull links with questions like this, but
now that there are thousands of free plugins out there...
its gotten really difficult.

Here is an alright list...

Here is another.... good list

Here are some good synths to go with your fucked up beats. (I suggest
texture and string theory)

Thanks a lot; especially for the warning about grandular
style effects (I must have got meanings mixed up.)

Currently, I have to labour for hours cutting beats into
minute sections and applying various effects offline.

I've had great fun with some of those plugins from the links
(although since I use Cakewalk Sonar3, I have to use the VST
wrapper to work them) so cheers again.

I've recently moved into making my own "effects" through
very detailed programming. Simplest example would be a delay
done by repeating a note at the desired interval getting
progressively quieter.

It's a slower way of working, but good for getting things
exactly as you want.

It's granular...not grandular. And it is a way of
granulising samples, it should never be used in place of
beat making.

Ceri what you are talking about is really really quick to do
with any decent sequencer.
