arrived.

I have one, they are quite nice. would be good if they had
midi out, so you could use the pads like an mpc, but its
good value for money. get the biggest smartmedia card cos
the internal memory is a bit low at top quality.

the fx section is quite cool, obviously they're cheap and
cheerful, but theres a good mix of fx which you can use to
great effect. the phaser for example is good because the
rate knob can be turned to minimum and the rate actually
stops! this is great, you can use this for some wicked
effects, and my more expensive TC rackmount effects unit
cannot set the rate to zero!

the controls are slightly cryptic, but after a quick glance
at the reference page of the manual and a play around, they
are fairly simple for everyday things, its only things like
formatting the memory which you have to look up.

I use my akai s5000 for sampling, the sampler function on
the 303 is not often used, but the effects I use all the
time.
load up 808 sounds on the bank a pads and 909 sounds on bank
b and then get a smartmedia card and use c and d banks for
whatever. then you can use a and b banks to bash out drum
loops and have a play until you get something you like, then
redo it in cubase or sample it, or whatever.

i always wanted one, but i bought korg es -1 & mpc.
now i feel so bad because i use mpc only for live sets...its
too big for my room...

i've got one (older version. same name i think) but i seldom
use it. and it has a very hi-frequent noise when sampling at
highest quality. does anyone know about this problem?
