"The follow up to 2003’s Draft 7.30, Autechre’s eighth full album is a dense yet elegantly expansive work that ripples with some of the duo’s key signatures: epileptic rhythmic counterpoints, complex, spiralling melodic cells, immense tectonic shifts in the low end, dagger sharp glacial crackles in the upper registers. But it also hits straight between the eyes with a raw, almost live-in-the-room immediacy. ‘We’re really cranked up and in a totally different gear at the moment’. having listened some more to it now, if I have to compare it, I can see how this sound could evolve from "draft" but it has some of the EP7-edginess thrown into it. or something. I'll get me coat. |

Yeah same here, I personally thought it was a fake on the basis of lcc, but upon listening to the rest of the album I realised it HAD to be them. No one else could make an album like that. |

I like Autechre, Draft I like but I don't think it's as good as it thinks it is, I think it's trying too hard, it sounds forced. I prefer Confield really, Draft... it sounds too "close up" to me, though that doesn't make sense. But still, I think they do their own thing better than anyone else, and I look forward to hearing the new album properly. |

You have to understand. Combo doesn't really like the album and he doesn't even think it's real (fooling himself); he just likes to make a lot of threads about it. |

the second leak was a hoax created by some toolbags with nothing else better to do with their time they took two tracks from the first leak to confuse people or do something hilarious and jackasslike |

Well, since that 2nd 'leak' was first written a while ago, I don't think it took much to put some songs together and convince a handful of people. I'm not sure why you are hating on them though... |

People were slated the first Leak when they thought it might not be Ae (and rightly so.) But now that it's known that it *is* Untilted, people are suddenly loving it and even likening it to the glorious Warp description in the OP. To me, it's an ok but very "tinny" sounding album, which sounds annoyingly bare and unfinished in a lot of places. |

Can any of the people who have the promo comment on the sound quality and mix? To me, leak 1 sounds like some of the parts are mixed a bit too low? (or maybe this is just due to the low quality rip) |

No reason to hate on the people who put together the second leak. The only people who should be feeling bad are the people who thought it was actually Autechre (see: iera with sitars [lol]) |

Stop going on about that qrter, it was an embarrassing first post from the days I hated Autechre. People change, and musical vocabulary grows....back then all I could appreciate was classical music and more obvious electronic stuff. |
