these codec problems.. who knows what the reason is.
did you check how other video player progs work with them?
like, BSPlayer, DivX, or power DeeVeeDee...

best player of all of them is VLC mediaplayer.

VLC plays ANYTHING. if VLC doesn't play it, you're fucked.

it plays avi's that you're still downloading through
bittorrent, for example. well, the bits that are downloaded
anyway.

Oooh, interesting. I've been using BS Player lately to great
joy. I'll check this one out too.

Your DVD drive could be fucked you know. That happened to me
once. All was hunky dory when suddenly no DVDs would play.
It was literally out of the blue. I think you might have the
same problem.

I'll ask jabber wacky too:

User: Taffmonster's DVD won't work.

Jabberwacky: It did work.

User: But it doesn't now.

Jabberwacky: Are you taking it back?

User: It's not mine.

Jabberwacky: I was not referring to anyone's hat in
particular.

I'll second VLC mediaplayer, ffdshow codec and BSplayer will
solve most of your viewing problems too. Maybe the DVD is
from another region or your not using a proper player.

My DVD playback became jerky all of a sudden. I upgraded the
firmware and partied on through the night spasmodically.
