The vocal samples used in a lot of GY!BE stuff are pretty
good, i guess.

Oh yeah, definately. When I got 'lift your skinny fists'
back in 01 I remember being pretty hypnotised by the Coney
Island monologue. I didn't know what coney island was... I
thought he was saying 'coney allen', and I think it sounded
better when I didn't know what he was talking about.

they don't sleep anymore on the beach...

Ah yeah, i wasn't thinking of that one actually but i know
what you mean. I remember hearing a bit of the Dead Flag
Blues on an NME cd of all things, and just being exactly
that, hypnotised. It was fucking cool man, one of those
excellent musical epiphanies that don't come very often.

Yep there's some pretty amazing imagery in that. It works
perfectly when the strings come in underneath. Found sound
was one of the band's assetts IMO... I reckon one of the
reasons why Yanqui was a bit shit...

Oh man that album was chest-burstingly bad...

I still haven't heard Yanqui UXO... is it really that
terrible?

Coincidentally, i was expecting to like ASMZ - "This is our
punk rock...", but i thought it was really overblown and
bad. Just had to get that off my chest there.

Just imagine LYSFLITH's epic progression, then remove the
part where they climax, and you're left with enough
meandering shit to drive you up the wall. I only heard it
once mind.

Phew, that sounds like a pile of fucking dung. I'll leave
well alone until its genius is conclusively proven unto me.

Yeah, as a whole its definitely their poorest release. Which
is a huge shame. There are a couple of parts that kick ass,
but the whole thing just doesn't have the emotion that the
others do. Its like they're using the same sounds but just
for the sake of it, kinda.

But I recommend you check it out anyway, ironically the last
track is one of my favourite from any godspeed -
Motherfucker=redeemer (part 2) - is the most hallucinogenic
thing they've done. Yeah, get hold of that track and throw
the rest away.

Also I'd give ASMZ earlier stuff a try... I don't know
what's made the whole constellation collective go to shit
recently, 'punk rock' is equivalent to yanqui is levels of
disapointment. 'Born into trouble...' and 'He left us
alone...' both own that album's ass 100 times.

Also, for all godspeed fans, you should download the live
version of 'albanian' for an unreleased return to form :D
Its got eastern-sounding scales in it and rocks.

The samples in Vsnares Dollmaker are PERFECT, I think the
first one is Chino XL "I fuckin murder your young style like
Jon Benet Ramsey" and then possibly Phaorahe Monch "Bust
multiple assaults at small interims, when I cut your neck,
leave a little piece of skin so the head don't fall off
hauled of sawn off shut gun blaaast" Really sets the track
off.

The paranoid guy on Stem/Long Stem... "Whats to stop them? I
mean whats really to stop them?" The xylophone and that guy
shakes me up, and then he almost whispers "scared..." and
that amazingly rich accordionish sound comes in.
