anyone heard of this dude? i have got the reference album
he released a few years ago, also a compilation of 3 eps
that he put out between 96 - 2000.

obviously the both rule, short analogue electroish tracks,
kinda simple and glitch, but real melodic and warm at the
same time.

my favourite artiste for march (at least)

Yes, Simon Walley's been around
for quite a while producing, as you
said, "short analogue electroish tracks."
Check out the 12"s he's done for
Delsin, DeFocus and Ann Aimee..
Reference is definitely a good start.

nomorewords.net for more..

Pietro.

Good to see CiM in the discussion,
my only quarrel about his tracks are
that they tease for a short amount
of time instead of fully opening up.
His interludes on the DeFocus comp,
“Two You See?,” featured sublime,
yet VERY short, Detroit-influenced
beauty –that being the exception.. ;)

If you're into Artificial Intelligence
styles electronics with a touch of
Detroit rhythms, then CiM is what
you're looking for.

i've got reference and the first one of those 3 EPs. many
boc-loving soulseek fans might recognise some oft he tracks
on reference. those tracks on "lavender trapezoids" are all
from reference.

been drinking with him a couple of times, really sound
guy...

his music is wicked too, some of it is well difficult to get
hold of though i think.

all the Defocus releases are excellent in an oldskool idm
sort of way anyway, and all are worth picking up...

I love the Reference album, it was a big part of my summer
of... I think 2002? Great ''walking around town'' music, or
''gazing at the ugly people on the bus''' music. Verstatile,
smooth, cool.
