This is such an excellent album. It's like a lovely cocoon being shaken to bits from within, just Amazing Music. I know most fennesz stuff, and a little jim o'rourke from his insignificance album, but i feel like i'm missing out on a lot of his stuff. Mr Rehrberg too.
Hast du any informormorations about either of these too?

Rehrberg is Pita and owner of Mego, if I'm still not Wrongly-McWrong.
Mego is good. Pita is good. O'Rourke is good. to me Fennesz is a bit hit and miss.
I shall try and listen to this device.

I once sent an e-mail to Mego asking whether they accept demos and where to send them.
for all the good it did I could've sent the same e-mail to the queen.
I then decided that if I was going to send out demos I would send them one ANYWAY.

I think the moral of the story is that you should send a demo to the queen, immediately.
I agree about fennesz being a bit hit-and-miss, though. Sometimes maybe. Have you any specific pita or o'rourke releases to recommend for my leisurely perusal?

forthwith!
I really like Get down - try listening to "we don't need no music".
and listen past the "30 second stop" point, to here the melody come in. :)

i love Pita - Uoon Avent + Vent Glass on his album (Get Down) ; the last album isnt bad at all ! (Get Off, december 2004)
but Fennesz is even better imo ! "endless summer" is sooooooo good !

and "the return of feen o berg" is awesome, especially the moody track 4 and the end of track 3 (and the beginning of track 1 as well, OMG !)

imo "endless summer" is okay, but not much more. I don't know, it somehow bores me quite quickly. this especially goes for "venice" which almost put me to sleep (and not in a nice way).
pita just has more of a kick.

yeah i agree that venice isn't that good (expect from tracks 1 and 2 and the one with davivd sylvian) ; but endless is so good to listen to in summer and in winter : there's a strange impression of warm every time i listen to it, i feel like opening the window cuz it's getting warmer and warmer in my room (maybe i should try playing it when i'm with a girl =D)
pita is less moody but better rythmically maybe

Ohhh, i do like endless summer. Venice was a little bit of a disappointment, but it's still Pretty Good.
I'm looking forward to hearing pita and o'rourke. This release is easily my favourite fennesz up to now.

I've got Venice and Endless Summer. Venice has wicked album art but unfortunately the actual music is not fully enjoyed by the me. Endless Summer, on the otherhand, has been the backdrop to many excellent sessions.
1 out of 2 fennesz albums are liked by the me.

Jim O'Rourke
If you want more Electronic Stuff, I Am Happy etc. is great, I suppose. You should also get all his other stuff on Drag City, espcrcrially the Halfway to a Threeway EP, best musics. And if you want some dronish drone stuff, you should listen to the works that are more early, like Terminal Pharmacy, It is great.
And you should also listen to the Gastr del Sol (Jim O'Rourke & David Grubbs & friends) albums that are Upgrade & Afterlife and Camoufleur and others.

Awesome List.
I think i might try to find Terminal Pharmacy, i also bought a hafler trio album the other day, it's really excellent drone stuff. Dronish drone is best. And i might find the OTHERS too, they all sound excellent, thanks.

Happy Days is also quite nice. Some nice minimalistic guitar stuff, then about 35-40 minutes of hardcore drony hurdy-gurdy action, and then some guitar again. It can also be quite intolerable, I don't know.

A good album, but I prefer the first.
Track two is the best of the bunch, imo.
Pita's latest release 'Get Off' is quite good.

ah yes. I haven't listened to that one yet.
korm plastics have done three reissues in the same vein as "mastery of money".
you should get "kill the king" - the most excellent Hafler record I have yet heard.

return of Fenn'o'Berg is definitely one of my favourite Fennesz related albums (well actually that probably applies to all three of them)... the only thing that would make it better would be if it had the last track from the first Fennoberg album which is a noise jam over the theme from moonraker...
