Can someone furnish me with a list / page / table of the average times different foods take to furnish. That way, when eating a meal, I can eat the foods that take the least amount of time to digest first, thus preventing a jam in my digestive tract. I suffer from indigestion regularly, and it isn't pleasant.

Have you perhaps thought of seeking medical advice from your doctor? I highly suspect the advice you get from the masses here, will do your health any good :D

Doctors are mostly rubbish. All I want is a list of the times it takes different foods to digest.
Anyway, my indigestion is linked to my current lack of fitness. When I fall into that Winter State, I always get indigestion. In summer, when I'm full of energy, I don't suffer from it.

I eat too much fibre, tolstoyed. I need more variety - this week I bought VEGETABLES, a new form of food I'm looking forward to eating. Remember, I don't eat Meat. (except FISH which don't have any feeling...)

Everybody's different Paul, but generally the simpler the food, the less time it takes to digest: simple sugars first, then simple starches, then more complex carbohydrates and veggies, then fats and proteins. Make sure you're taking plenty of liquids as well.

but don't drink while you eat, because apparently the liquid dilutes the acids in ur stomach, which break down your food.
well, that's what I've been told.

Fats and proteins are going to take the longest, you can digest quicker if you chew a lot before you swallow.

Dr Hay says.. VERY roughly stated..
Fruit (except bananas) - c.10 minutes
Carbohydrates (bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, beer) - c.3 hours
Protein (meat, fish, dairy, wine) - c 4 hours
Neutral stuff (vegatables (not potatoes)) - c. 1 hour
A mixed meal - c. 6 hours (or more)
Don't drink and eat similtaneoously
Google for the 'Hay diet' also known as 'Food combining' for the full details.. there are various versions, but all have the above as the basis. It has it's skeptics, but it's at least interesting - and i find the more i pay attention to the criteria, the better i feel.
