any fans here? ive always been into them, but as of late i
have found myself really liking them, i know theyre not
xltronic, but theres something about there sound thats not
rock or standard either - i am going to say that pork soda
is the bestest.

it is. Primus will rock forever. very much a part of the
music i grew up on. the original band line up (as far as
releases goes [there were several different line ups before
that]) is the best, w/ Tim Herb Alexander.

i am on a kick to get all of the albums on cd - i had pork
soda and sailing the seas of cheese and the brown album - so
i am getting the rest slowly so far i really like them all -

1 pork soda - for me the obvious best - sounds experiemental
at times, its not too distorted production sounds great,
drums, guitars and bass all sound superb - + lots of ideas
floating around this one, at time it sounds like a tom waits
album.

2 tales from the punch bowl - for me it was there last great
album, even though the one after sounded pretty good - but
there is a lot going on on this one, i would say its there
most straight forward and accessible release. it just rocks
though, the bass is unbelievable.

3 sailing the seas of cheese / frizzle fry- this and frizzle
fry are like the roots of primus, they are both dirty, but
raw sounding, + they are primus's heaviest albums - not
really experimental but really good music on both.

4. the brown album / antipop - for me these are the only
albums that i havent loved after a bit. i do think they are
essential, but they wear off quickly and dont offer much for
ideas.

5. rhinoplasty - havent heard/ purchases this yet, will very
soon.

oh, their stuff is so enjoyable!

i love their earlier albums better, the first three ones are
definitely my favs... Tim Alexander is an excellent drummer.

and 'Sailing...' has some of the best artwork ever!

btw, i know there are a few biggest Primus fans on xltronic
- Forck_02lynix, Oddioblender and others.

yo, tallyho!

definately my all time favorite band, it's just amazing how
well they play individually and together. i was able to see
them twice in a week during the tour de fromage in 2003 in
new york city. best week of my life.

SPD - animals is definately worth the money. the videos,
live footage, extra stuff is excellent. plus the ep sounds
like they picked right back up after punchbowl. live dvd is
really good too, but they could have done better with
filming tim. you hardly see what he's doing.

I recently pulled out Tales From the Punchbowl and The Brown
ALbum and fuck me,., tey both kicked my ass. some sick
basslines and just mindbending tracks..

it's weird music and it's fucking awesome.

i never liked Tales... (seemed like thats when they were on
a downslope w/ Tim on his way out.)

but that DVD, F yes. i still have the Cheesy Home Video in a
drawer somewhere. i was all Primus all the time in '93 and
after that it was on to my NIN fix, and now this. but before
it all...there was Peter Gabriel, the King.

didn't know there was an EP that came w/ the dvd though.
thanks dude for that info.
