i don't think so... not in my knowledge.
There are these program that converts all kinds of files.
But they are fake. The only reliable converter is stuffit
expander...
I was told.

well.. some people are just more into mac.
Like myself. It's so much easier with a mac.
Like you would probably say that it's so much easier with a
pc... :)

thanks for the info, i see that windows media plays asf, but
you need a codec. i doubt there's one available for mac.

i'm asking because i just bought a cheap video camera that
said was only pc compatable, but i wasn't thinking in terms
of the file format of the video. if i can't get it to work i
can return it, but it was so cheap i figured i'd give it a
try.

It depends on the file format that the ASF contains.
VLC can play some of them.
Windows Media Player will play some of the ones that VLC won't
(WMV3 format)
And some of them just can't be played on the Mac (WMV9
format) because Microsoft haven't ported that yet, and the
format hasn't been cracked yet.

go to quicktime player > preferences > quicktime preferences
> update then click 3rd party software, click all of them
and it'll play everything.
