faaaaaabulous! I love Beksinski. I'm sure there's no
shortage of critics who think he's lowbrow because of the
macabre subject matter but fffffffffffuckem.

i looked at the main dir first, and i have mixed feelings
about those. on one hand, i admire anyone who can concieve
of these totally fantastical surreal worlds and depict them
so well. but on the other, i just don't like them. i don't
like the look of them. sorry.

but in the Other Works folder, there were some that really
did connect with me. some of them seemed emotionally-deep
and i liked the nod to magritte.

and these sketches are all pretty awesome. so yeah, there
are some here that i think are really great. thanks for the
links and please post more info (anyone).

hill like.

well yeah they're not really deep brilliant material, a lot
depend on just a mood and some nice colors and cool spacial
stuff (things decaying, morphing into eachother really nice)
but it can be nice

Yeah I heard about the coma/hell thing too. I dont know much
about the guy. His sketches just made me sprout a whole
forest of wood.

Well, shit. Seems oddly appropriate though, doesn't it? I'm
picturing a hellraiserish scenario and the cops aren't
saying that he was skinned and dressed and a small altar
made out of his bones.

Everyone needs to grab that zip, these scaled down pics dont
do any justice to the amazing detail in these works.

Haunting...

thats sad... "This is not a fear of emptiness but of

looks like he probably suffered, being stabbed to death and
all. :(

very interesting indeed... ' _ '

i don't like everything in it, i think it's a bit
too.. "colourful" (dark but saturated colours) maybe? (maybe
that's because i'm used to Giger.) but it's pretty great.

Actually he's the first painter my father introduced me to.
I mean his works. Strange choice for a 9 year old kid, I
guess. I'd like to think it didn't scar me.
He had mad skills, that's undeniable, but I've grown to
ignore this whole emotional impact of his work.
I still like the fact that he pisses all over this
unicorn-ridden fantasy hyperrealism bullshit.

It was a pretty talented male line. His son, besides hosting
a radio programme about reasonably good though uniformly
depressing music, translated Monty Python's Flying Circus
for Polish TV.
