Speaking of ghosts...

Has anyone seen the series called Ghost Hound? I was
watching subbed versions off of Youtube, but the entire show
wasn't up yet.

that would be "akira" then.
great manga (jap. comic)
and probably the best anime (film)

had a little more time lately

Elfen Lied: 2/5
totally horrible characters being absolutely two-dimensional
with no progress at all (which is so damn important in
anime). it seems like the only thing they are able to do is
to say "sorry" and "i love you". the plot isn't the most
artistic either but the fact that we discover
past-connections between the characters build up a little
tension. the graphics aren't really that bad either but they
are rather mediocre. in my opinion one of the most overrated
animes ever, probably due to the violence and
body-dismembering + naked tits.

Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan: 4/5
personally one of my all time favs right now. i mean come
on, how can't you love an anime where the plot is about
angels from the future trying to stop a boy who will
discover his pedophile feelings and creates a virus which
doesn't allow girls to get older than a certain (low) age.
genious. the graphics good, action all the time, a lot of
graphical violence and loli. and the creators didn't even
make the mistake of making it longer so the ideas don't burn
out that fast. so we have a compact 4 ova series. in fact i
think i'll watch it again tonight.

Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya 5/5
when i watched the first episode i thought of it being a
boring "slice-of-life-high-school-shojo-fag-anime" like
dozens. couldn't understand the huge popularity either. but
after a few episodes i changed my mind. the story is just
awesome as is the storytelling by itself. the creators make
you watch it in manner which creates a mixed timeline which
adds more drama and lets the thing really get tense. there
is a wiki site where everything about it is explained. the
characters are greatly designed too with maybe the tsundere
getting weak a bit fast (i lately discovered that you can
rate an anime by the time the tsundere needs to "crack up").
the graphics are pure awesome, the music is fine and
everything. definately a series that everybody should
watch.

Lucky Star: 4/5
that was a difficult one. a lot of people consider this
series ver y boring and uninteresting. the problem is that
you should consider watching this series after you have a
bit of experience with anime in itself, you know the culture
and most importantly - have watched a lot of anime before.
the series constantly mocks other animes and japanese
movies, so only when you have seen them you'll understand
the jokes. quite an ambitious series - i personally love it.

Sky Girls: 3/5
this mark is probably the highest this series has ever
gained in a review and i can quite understand it but still i
kinda like that series and am also a bit sad about it. when
you watch the ova (which was intented to be the only output
of sky girls) you think - god this is great. you have 16
year old girls in suits that cover the body less than an
average handkerchief and mechas. come on - loli and mecha -
total win factor. but the problem is that this is win for a
30 minutes ova, not a whole series. the creators due to
several requests (come on it's LOLI AND MECHA) made a series
consisting of 26 episodes of it. the problem is that they
just but the ova into little pieces and stretched it over 26
episodes not really adding anything new. so we get a bit of
character development which is fine but it happens in a lot
of "filler episodes" where nothing really happens. so we got
the obligatory "hit spring" episode which is fine but the
first enemy appears in like the 5th or later episode. the
thing is that the creators thought they could attach you to
the screen by giving you the occasional teen ass, some fight
here, some drama there but not having a single trump card up
their sleeve. the worst thing is that nothing really lacks
in this series and it had a lot of potential. the graphics
are awesome with just a few cgi's, the music is great. the
ending of the series speeds up a little but there it's
already too late. i really like this series and hate the
fact that they fucked it.

also there is a dvd special to sky girls where you have 9
episodes of 10 minutes of the girls fishing in their slutty
suits. fishing. like fishing fish. no monsters. fish.

Dead Leaves: 6/5
watched due recommendation by some xltronician (cygnus) this
movie is absolutely awesome. the graphical style is causing
you epilepsy when you watch it too often, the speed and
action of it is just impossible to keep up. i don't want to
talk about it too much really it's just a must see.

i would really want to recommend something in the anime
department but i completely switched to watching only
mediocre stuff. if the words "loli, ecchi, pantsu" appear in
the description i just can't say no.

although i had some free time between looking at colourful
pantsu on kiddie asses:

darker than black - technically maybe not the best looking
anime but a great story
bakemonogatari - this years popularity-hit in japan. but it
earns it.

chihiro - 6.5/10 - like a weird dream
tekkon kinkreet - 7.5/10 - great pictures
nausicaa - 9/10 story and landscape really caught me,
all of them well worth watching though

the girl who leapt through time - 8/10 very awesome
graphics. bit of a tearjerker - something you might show
your gf and still enjoy yourself with the
time-leaping-mindfuckery.

I love the manga but have yet to see the anime. The author
commited suicide after only 1 or two books. I think her
husband kept the series going.

Everyone should see KAIBA, by Masaaki Yuasa (himself
director of Mind Game and Kemonozume, as well as involved
with Cat Soup).

Kaiba (infact everything by this man) is the anime for anime
viewers who's gotten bored with anime clichés. yes.
