This thread is to discuss things that are Shaft related.
I assumed that I have given the The Shaftâ„¢ to upper management by submitting the following letter to be read during a 'town hall' meeting for our company. The company name has been omitted.
"Since the occurance of the most deadly tsunami ever to hit Asia, the death toll overseas has risen beyond 300,000 people. In reaction to this, --- has only donated $350,000 (which includes the $250,000 matching employee donations). For a company that made 6 billion dollars in profit alone last year, I feel that donating a little over a dollar per deceased person is an insult not only to those who are struggling overseas, but also to fellow co-workers here in the United States who have donated good chunks of our own paychecks to help those less fortunate than us. It makes us look bad not only to our own employees but to outside costumers as well, especially when companies like 3M and General Mills have donated 1.5 million and 1 million, respectively. Do you think that --- should continue on the same path, or should more action be taken during a time of such crisis?"

I got the shaft when they told me that my original question was too negative. I was told to reword it so it didn't sound like I was pointing fingers.
SHAFTED!
