Bad sign they had to use recycled music from MIB?

President of the galaxy only good thing. Is it just me, or
do previews these days usually discourage you from
watching the film or make it look worse?

PS. I also am starting to hate amazon.com.

there's a much higher quality version of the trailer
floating out there.

No but I'm terribly grateful Zaphod only has the one head -
the second once would either be CGI or a muppet head voiced
by Gilbert Gottfried.

zaphod only has one head? that sounds kind of crap.

that's like making a Star Trek movie with captain Kirk all
slim and taut, talking a normal way.

That's what I thought Walex but there is a bit where he
flips his head back and reveals the second.

The Vogon's voice should be more disgusting.

not really. they use temp tracks all the time.

the trailer for "the two towers" had music from "requiem for
a dream" under it.

jesus Marvin still looks completely awful.

nice to see Stephen Fry is doing the voice of the book
though.

Alan Rickman is voicing Marvin? they really should've used
the original actor for that.

From seeing only the Trailer, I think the production design
looks good with the exception of Marvin. I have always
pictured Marvin being human height and lanky.

It's been quite a while since I've read it, but the humor
looks a little more slapstick than I'd hoped... although I
could be wrong.

It doesn't look as bad as I'd feared it could be.

in the trailer, they're trying to sell it on action, not on
the wit that's inherent to the books.

Yeah not quite sure whats up with Mos Def... I couldn't say
yet whether there was a lot of suck. I liked how Jeltz
looked. The major problem with acting out these books is a
lot of the lines seem stupid when you actually say them,
because in the book the absurdness of the phrasing works
because you often have to read it twice.

On this PC WMP is constantly not installed, and when you
install it, instead of loading, it asks to install it again.
So, what I'm trying to say is, is there a place where I can
download it rather than stream it ? And preferably not so it
can only be played on WMP.

I think the design for marvin is great. Quite much how i
imagined him to be. But its too big, he should be half the
size.

offline Bob Mcbob on 2005-02-17 06:37 [#01502275]

i loved the books so much i am not going to watch the film,
theres no way a film can compare to the special effects my
imagination can create while reading.

besides, the tv show only covered a tiny part of all 5
books, theres no way the film can cover the whole story. and
if it can't cover the whole story, whats the point?

You only need flash installed to watch it at amazon. I can't
stream video here so it must've been flash.

Well, the original radio series which came before the books,
only covered what is in the TV series, so you can't really
blame them.

Do you know how much the film covers? Lord of the Rings
shows that a trilogy can be made out of a series quite
profitably, so I would imagine that would be the best
option, maybe NOT including Mostly Harmless.

I went to IMDB and watched the trailers there (for REAL and

getting blown up! :(

that trailer makes it look pretty shit, really.

like I said before, makes it look like a hollywood
blockbuster action flick. where's the typical Adams wit?

and that overblown hollywood movie-voice announcing the
voice is really REALLY misplaced on a Douglas Adams story, I
think. it made me laugh out loud.

Reguardless of how the movie turns out, trailers stick to a
pretty rigid structure, reguardless of how groundbreaking
the movie may or may not be. Since this is a comedy, they
show the most slapstick obvious points to attract the lowest
common denominator, and hope the books fanbase will bring
the demographic that the movie was designed for.

Not saying the movie is going to be good or bad. Going to
see it reguardless of how much the trailer sucks, cause I am
a fan of the book.

which makes me fear for the film, because large budgeted
films like this also normally stick to a pretty rigid
structure.
