man, its just so awesome i cant get over it.. at first i
digged cap.iv the most, but now the first track 'gantz graf'
is starting to dawn on me.. as for dial.. thats the weakest
track.

also i bought the dvd yesterday and it was so awesome

I found the vinyl in my local record shop which usually only
carries indie punk and overly white music. It was a steal
at $6 CAD

wtf, dial isn't the "weak" track - there is no weak track on
Gantz Graf, that is a solid EP; each track is dependant on
each other for a cohesive piece of work. it's 20 minutes of
pure brilliance.

Tienes todo mi respeto, ¡por supuesto! Lo siento, solo no
puedo dejar de quejarme sobre V.Snares y Autechre despues de
Confield, porque ... han arruinado LA MUSICA, pero eso es
todo.

I can't for the life of me understand how anyone could like
the first track without the video-I mean wow, they did a
noisy fucked up beat for the first bit which randomly
switches to another section, where they hide a basic melody
behind walls of mildly rythmic noise. yay.

its nice to have diferent views on music

discussion makes us more intelligent I guess... at least we
exsercise our brains

but I will tell you something
I would love to smoke some marihuana and drink some good
whisky (or whatever you like) with nice aphex or autechre in
our ears while chating with you, lee, goran and some others

me. one of my favorite ae tracks ever. this ep is
flawless, imo. i'm listening to it right now, in fact.

not bad, but it's definitly my ae album with the most dust

well, u get that...

cap.iv had an instant good feel to it. dial isn't good imo
and i haven't listened to gantz graf enough, which might be
good. so this ep is ok i guess.

best visualization of a track ever.

i think that's true, a close second would be "natural rythm"
by Coldcut. the nature cutup video synched to music.

cap.iv is the only song I know that pulls of dual time
signatures perfectly. Singular.

makes me feel good

Elusive, from 4.14 to 5.25, each bar can be divided by
three(waltz time) or by two. Choosing one or the other
produces a completey diffrent yet perfectly in scync rythym
pattern. Try alternating between the two during the above
time frame and you will see how fucking clever they truly
are. :)

Gantz Graf freaked me the first time I heard it. Spikee
Dragon made me a CD with it on and the first time I heard it
I sat bolt upright in bed and did a WTF/LOL face. I only
just realised that.

I bought it ASAP after that.

Spikee is awesome.

I can't think of another example.

It's a cracking example and one that I'll try to remember
more.

Nope, cleverness is just part of it. But it's a big part :)
The beginning of the song hinted at this duality as diffrent
beat patterns are layered together. I actually found it by
mistake though: the song was playing at that part when I put
my earphones on. My frame of reference was slightly off so I
started hearing this other pattern. After a couple of
listens, I traced it back to 4.14 and started tapping out
the beat by two's and three's for the same period and it
just poped out.

drukqs is also full of polyrythms, they are 'cleverly'
hidden so that you can always feel a 2 or 4 beat.

it is a hard thing to do well and ae do that thing right
too! (don't remember which songs, but i'm sure there's other
examples of ae songs with clashing signature on older
records, maybe lp5...)

cap.IV is a wonderfull song at all levels...

gantz graf is a very solid ep IMO.(i have the dvd version,
and my friend bought the vynil, dial and cap.IV are so heavy
it's frightening to play loud)
