i recently got an emu0404 card, and it has some nice dsp. it basically provides you with some extra effects (emu dsp has a vst interface) that don't cost you any extra cpu to use. it's nice if you have limited processing power. also, the effects tend to be higher quality than most vst's. the reverb on my emu, for instance, is really nice. i can't really recommend getting an emu0404 though, until their drivers improve.. it's buggy! |
