I decided today that I like Mission of Burma and Belle and
Sebastian.

I was putting off liking them due to time constraints, but
now I like them.

This comes hot on the heels of my recent decision to finally
like Bjork.

You know what I am saying? You are aware of some artists and
you go a long time saying they're good, I'll get around to
them. And sometimes, tragically, you are killed by ro-bots
before you can listen to all that you would like to hear.

I don't know what to say apart from I have the early eps and
first two albums of Belle and Sebastian but after that it
gets like, FUCK who wants to hear more Belle and Sebastian?
No one. And then I like the first two albums of Bjork but
then it's like, FUCK who wants to hear more Bjork? No one. I
don't like the sound of the name Mission of Burma and I'd be
happy for Killer Sex-O-Tron robots to do me in before having
heard their "thing"

Oh, you'd like Mission of Burma. The singer had a cardboard
box of records with a blot of grey paint on it that some
tough guys called the "weatherbox" and tried to take from
him, and he wrote a song about it.

Belle & Sebastian's "3...6...9 Seconds Of Light" EP is very
lovely. VERY lovely.

Let me clarify:

I was living in the North End of Boston at the time, an
extremely Italian section of town where I frequently felt
like a trespassing insect. I had a small box (probably
designed for carrying 45's) on which I had sprayed a blob of
grey paint. (This was my post-punk briefcase). As I walked
down the main street I heard a bunch of young toughs yell
"Here comes Deputy Dan with his Weatherbox!" Of course I was
intrigued, and looked around. Then I realized they met me as
one of them tried to grab it out of my hands.

Later, I left it in a pub. When I went back to get it, the
bouncer said "Are there any bombs in that?" Thus the title
of the song, and the reason "bombs roll inside the
weatherbox".

I haven't heard that one it yet. I've had Sinister for a
while and I just got Tigermilk and some of the other EPs.

What about the artists you don't get a chance to say
"they're good, I'll get around to them"? There's so much
that could be the best music of your life but the ro-bots
get you before you've even had a chance to find out about
it.

You must win the headband from Sheena in a sausage-eating
contest.

She looks pretty hungry.

Yeah a lot of their stuff is too forced. Maybe that's the
point, in which case I still don't like it.
