i started my journey into electronic music listening to
fsol music.
outside warp records, they are my favourite artists.
i'm quite sure you like them too.
i even started to collect some of their vinyls (with other
aliases)
so what do you think about?

They are cool. I haven't listened to anything outside
Lifeforms but I think thats a really decent album. Papua New
Guinea is awesome also :)

I thought dead cities was a bunch of wibbly crap to be
honest, but lifeforms is pretty decent.

Dead Cities is excellent.

one thing i really love about this album is that it flows
just perfectly despite having such different tracks... it
has some of the greatest track transitions ever.

about 50 years from now - so future kids would know what to
listen

My Kingdom EP was my first CD ever.

I was introduced to FSOL through hearing "We Have
Explosives" on the Wipeout XL soundtrac about 8 years ago.

quite the same with me - tho i SAW "we have explosive" --
video for the track that made me go wow.

i think i only enjoyed half of "my kingdom" ep - track 2 and
3 as i remember, havent checked that for a time now

Also masters of fm synthesis.

Dead cities and new forms are still far and away the best
non-glitch electronic style ambient music I have ever heard.

without.

ive never heard anything by fsol (except 'we have explosive'
and i wasnt impressed) but i do like humanoid and i
discovered recently that they are the same people. if i like
humanoid will i like fsol? are they similar music styles?

offline Taxidermist from Black Grass on 2005-02-11 03:13 [#01495254]

We have explosive was the most radio friendly and god awful
song from dead cities. Do yourself a favor and get your
hands on it.

Thier is some really great pre-glitch style glitch on that
album. Glass is totally ahead of its time. And herd killing
is beautifull.

If possible, go out and buy it, cause the artwork is
beautifull.

offline w M w from London (United Kingdom) on 2005-02-11 03:52 [#01495296]

it mostly sucks imo. And "we have explosive" isn't even
proper grammar. But at least it's not as dumb as "insane in
the membrane". That is the stupidest lyric ever thinking a
membrane is a part of a brain or something just because it
has the "brane" suffix.

if i should compare muslimgauze i should say that fsol are
better

as you can read in the other topic i said (and someone
else) he ruined his sound concept in 15000000000000000
productions.
his beats are cool
but a lil repetitive if they are played for 10 minutes

offline godataloss from Cleveland (United States) on 2005-02-11 13:07 [#01495859]

You have definitely not heard the abortion FSOL last put out
then...

Muslimgauze is more comparable to Aphex and, fuck all of you
fanboys in advace, BETTER, crazier and deader.

i listened to.....don't worry
well someone can say "innovation" "a revolution of the
sound"
but that amorphous androgynus works are really shitty

If you are interested in checking out the finest Muslim
Gauze in my humble estimation, find "Uzi Mamhood"
fatabulous beats and narry a hint of his more
cacophony-laden tracks that make you paranoid that your
speakers are blown.
