Limited first run of 500 in handsmade fakefur pouches. A new press of 1000 is in the pipeline, according to skam-news network.

Warpmart had it a week ago or something, but it's all gone now.
I can sadly tell you that there are loads of cats on the compilation. A bit too much infact, and there are only a couple of good tracks on it. The rest is a bit amateurish imo. One of the guys who won the aermx contest here is on it though, and his tracks are fairly decent.
But there are som cats here who like it, so there might still be a chance you'll like it. I'm out though :)

Yeah, that's the best one, but the track that comes after is absolutely fucking terrible. I cringe everytime I hear that guy sing.
Excellent avatar btw, it reminds me that I have to listen to Adult. again.

there's a review of the whole comp. on tesselate.me.uk, sam, the reviewer liked this comp a lot...
>vlari, can u list the amateur work on this ? and how can you say it's amateur work...do you think the guys at skam have a non professional vision of the music they release ?

The comp isn't too bad, but you have to clean the CDs quite well before you play them or you get bits off fluff inside your cd player.

I've just got up after about 14 hours of sleep. I'll go back again if I feel too drowsy. Thanks for the concern :)

i haven't the pb of the fluff in the cd player but i must admit that one of my cats try to eat (!) the furry-case...if he manage to reach it, he take it in his mouth as if it was a mouse and quickly escape in another room...

I don't think that Skam wanted to do a half-assed, or non-professional job with it. When I said amateur, I meant in the sense of the artists (who submitted tracks to this comp. just like a contest). It's like a bad day on xltronic, where there is only bad spam to click on. I'm not going to list all of the tracks that I think is amateurish soundwise, but most of them are. Actually I bought the compilation only because I could afford it and because it was limited.

the purpose of this project was to give 'amateur' a chance to reach a large audience, no ? so saying it's full of 'amateur' tracks doesn't mean anything in my opinion...but everyone here like or dislike some tracks which is absolutely a good and 'normal' thing...
(i don't really like most of the tracks on the rest cd -cd1, but just because it doesn't really correspond to my 'musical tastes', not in the point of view 'amateur' / 'professional')
anyway, despite what i like or not, i think they made a very good job, cause they received a lot of tracks and made a very large and opened choice...
i think it's definitively a good 'panorama' of what 'electronica' is nowadays

As a way of auditioning new talent the compilation did well. My only gripe is that it's not pushing any boundaries imo, and I find all the meowing quite annoying. Many of the tracks sounds like they want to be "SKAM", some succeed, some sounds like a parody. I think the SMAK series does a better job in tracking down the real cats of the game. And on that note, I'm anxious to hear the new Quinoline Yellow album :)
Your points are valid, zara, it's just that I don't like the compilation. Let's be friends now.
