all of the sudden i notice fruity loops is creating too
much noise.. what setting should i take a look to to
minimize the noise

noise? That's just the Defrindicator plug-in. You need to
go into your 'perps' folder (in the 'loops folder) and find
a file called 'Nifkin.hxe' this will open a window where
you can select options on your Defrindicator plug-in. It
will probably be set to somewhere between 15-40 degrees of
lift... therefore the noise. set it to, say, 5-10 degrees,
and go easy with the pre-gain! No more than 10db of
pre-gain, or you'll be bollocks-deep in static!! Also,
check your hard-drive lobe settings (pc only)- these should
all be in logical order, and readily interchangeable. Ummm,
also remove the Virtual Memory auto-shutdown talkback engine
from your preferences... this will only lead to more
problems. Glad to help.

I find the sounds are always "rough edged" this is most
noticable on the classical instruments, piano, violin etc.

I want to get nice soft gradient fade out reverb on them,
but the always sound clipped/"poppy".

How do I put reveerb on seperate channels?

Ì dont want efx on like the base drum etc?

If you have FL version 2.7 and higher (maybe 2.5 and higher)
you can define which effects track each sample is on.
there are 8 different FX channels I think. So you could
have the drums on one channel with a noise gate or something
like that, and a synth going through distortion and reverb
on another channel.

i use cool edit pro, unity DS-1, reBirth and funny samples i
get from the net. i am synthesizer-less at the moment, so i
have to be extra imaginative to get melodies &tc - i love it
tho :D

i didn't realize how much i hate Fruity Loops until I had
received my keyboard back. lately i've been getting really
sick of using my computer for making music...it's getting
boring. but then again i'm judging my computer by the use of
Fruity Loops and Sound Forge 4.5 BORING. i want Logic and
ProTools damnit! and an ibook...a really good mic...lots of
speakers! $$$$$$!!!!!!!

sound forge boring? wot!!! sound forge is wicked if you have
enough patience and knowledge of it, you can do lots of wild
shit in minutes and create really unique, cool stuff. i
would recomend having a really hard dig through all the
effects and plug ins and stuff and fiddling with all the
stuff that looks a bit complicated, then you will see that
sound forge has such a large creative scope

offline jingle from London (United Kingdom) on 2002-02-08 21:26 [#00083567]
Points: 502 Status: Regular

tip, on soundforge put a 303 sound through the amplitude
modulation at a 50/50 mix on each fader: set the frequency
to around 3000 to 5000 (i use about 4333) and you have
instant aphex/ kraftwerk phonemes

from what I can see, you can do loads of shit with Fruity
Loops... I don't see why people call it crap... if your
music sucks, that's your fault not the program...

Well said! If they're music sounds like garbage in
Fruityloops, I bet their Reason or actual hardware-made
music sucks just as bad.

maybe Reason is better, but if it's so complicated that it
takes you months to learn how to program a drum beat, then
what's the point? Fruity Loops is pretty easy, and has loads
of stuff you can do... so I don't see what the problem is...

i dont mean to be rude but please stop arguing about fruity
loops.
make a song instead and people will listen to it.
The song shows if you are good or bad.
so it doesnt really matter what program you have used.
