hi, i'm doing fine thanks :) I've been buying lots of susumu yokota cd's off ebay this week. Yesterday I received Cat, Mouse And Me and I'm loving it. Grinning Cat, Sound Of Sky and Boy And The Tree are also on their way to my house. I just came to xltronic to find a thread about him, to see what other releases I should get. :) How have you been? |

Yeah I'm still enjoying that alot. Even if nothing ever happens with it... I'll probably still make drawings just for myself. However I'm still trying to get my children's book published ofcourse. :) Maybe one day... What did you study again? And have you seen the spongebob-movie yet? I haven't... I've heard it's not as good as the show though. :( |

"cause ive been trying to finish for ages now," Hm, that does suck. :( It took me three tries to finish artschool... I was having lots of personal problems at the time though. But I hated the feeling of almost being done for nearly 2 years. Well, just keep at it and I'm sure you'll finish the study. When it's all behind you, it's amazing how quickly you forget about all those troubles and how long it took you... and you just feel really good about yourself. :) |

It doesn't sound like me to fill out something that doesn't fit... (I think it's from a lyric from some song, but I don't remember by what artist) "what's Cat, Mouse And Me like? i haven't heard about this one yet :)" I had a feeling you'd show up in this thread sooner or later. :p It's released on a label called Eye Q Music. The artwork looks really crappy and amateuristic. And he released it under just the name "YOKOTA", but on the inlay it says "all tracks created and realised by susumu yokota", so it's him alright. :) The music is really excellent! I think you'd like it too. It's very calm and relaxed music... but not exactly ambient. It's about the same sound as he uses on Sakura I'd say. Sometimes it sounds a little more dated than that one, but the melodies are so good. :) I just love it. The 4th track called River Side is probably my favourite right now. It starts out nice and jazzy with some piano. And then halfway through it suddenly changes completely and a very warm and soothing melody starts playing. Really lovely. You have to hear it for yourself to fully appreciate it. :) I hadn't heard about Symbol yet! But I found another thread you made about it. It sounds great. :) slsk is not really my thing though. I want the original album. Maybe I can find a japanese online store that'll ship worldwide... |

My yokota-collection has become quite impressive if I do say so myself. "can i see some of your art stuff?"
