what do you think of this title?
How do you think they came up with it?

they must have thought how genius they are for coming up
with a title that actually means something and it looks so
similar to untitled. yes.

untilted? well, when i thought of it six months ago, it was
a typo at first... i immediately realized my mistake and
sort of thought, "that's so stupid i might as well leave it"
and so i did. then once autechre announced that they had
the same idea as me, i changed it to something else because
it was just a working title anyway.

probably. but hopefully they'll come up with an elaborate
lie explaining how it translates into some sort of
mathematical formula that generates their album. because
the truth (at least my story anyway) is incredibly boring.

mistery of the title alone :D

they might as well just leave everything untitled [sic].
why bother using any track titles? it's so unnecessary.

yes but what about when they play a gig and people start
shouting titles of the songs they want to hear?

Maybe they're subliminaly telling us they're "on the
level".
Or maybe they're saying that to get the perfect Autechre
sound you'll need to play it at perfect horizontal alignment
(use a spirit level).
Or maybe, just maybe, they called it "untitled" for ages,
cos it was, and, due to their fondness for words that look
one way be are actually not what you expect, decided on the
variation we now know and are possibly forced to get used
to.

offline r40f from qrters tea party on 2005-02-01 07:42 [#01484091]
Points: 14210 Status: Regular

they can just use this simple method here:

1. Decide which song you would like Autechre to perform.
2. Divide the bitrate of the illegal mp3 copy you have of
the song by the length and multiply the result by the track
number.
3. Find x where x=y(3/r - 7t) * 3.14.
4. GOTO 40. INKEY$
5. Add the third answer by the average of their respective
current ages.
6. Use the hypotenuse to solve for Q.
7. Practice your spelling and handwriting for one hour.
8. Adjust for daylight savings.
9. Thrust your lighter into the air and yell, "Freebird!"

it's as easy as that. a helpful hint for autechre
concert-goers.

i reckon it was to throw off peer to peer searches for at
least until the album comes out. most people don't notice
the mis spelling.

joyrex called us gay. phobia didn't understand so he looked
at the dictionary, looked for antonyms in the thesaurus, and
saw 'straight'. he then titled the page as 'Untilted'.

genius if you ask me.
