that gay fucking chanting shit. If I wanted something like

Autechre- Djarum (Worst AE track ever, off of their worst CD
ever, ANTI-EP)
Aphex- Elephant Song (Horrible, repetitive, shit song, off
of one of RDJ's personal worsts-- AB4.)
BoC- Zoetrope (boring and simple)

I had to rack my brain for a bad AE track. They don't make
bad songs anymore and havent for a very long time. Anti-EP
and Why R We R Why whatever would have to be the only two
releases of theirs I don't care for.

I'm curious why you named Sequoia and then said 'not exactly
fair'.. is that because it was unreleased? Regardless, I
think it's a great track! :D I like Zoetrope too.. it's a
lovely track! imo

If you're going for lame boards of canada, I'd choose
something like Julie and Candy. god, that song irritates me.

lowride is full of shitty timbres and simplistic lines
without any creative inner structure or interplay. In
short: pure shit.

My taste is unparalleled, you fucking colon-worms.

It sounds just like the rest of Incunabula. it is what it
is.. There are a lot less creative tracks on that album
aside from Lowride, seems to me.

can you please just listen to the track? I think the
intelligence required to create it rivals yours, which is
maybe why you like it. Or perhaps you're thinking of a
different artist? Poseidon fucking rules.

I disagree. Shit doesn't fit or flow anywhere in the track.
444 and windwind, however, doesn't suffer from this. They
are also simplistic however they at least were crafted with
some attention..

Lowride is a bit like a car crash, or a video of a guy
getting his head smashed in by a car. It sucks, but I like
it.

...

Oh man... Julie And Candy might be my favorite BoC track
(Dawn Chorus and eagle in your mind being tied for second)
... it has that old record feel and heartfelt melody that
hits me every time.... it's a very emotional song. Zoetrope,
while pleasent, has very little emotion or very little of
anything going on and that's why I it's my least fav BoC
track.

Lowride is a decent song, for it's time. Futuristic Hip Hop
Techno with a dash of AE melancholy... of course the sounds
are dated but you have to look past that if you want to
evauluate all songs fairly.

dj craze + dj klever scratch nerds 2003

track 11

i dont know why they put that song on the cd its not really
good or anything, and stands out as really plain because the
rest of the tracks are completely fat. i hit skip every
single time.

offline uviol from United States on 2005-01-29 23:07 [#01481397]

Haha, man, we must be on different wavelengths.. Dawn Chorus
irritates me too, I thought about putting that one instead!
Julie and Candy is nice enough, but it's too long, too
repetetive.. just grating after a while. Dawn Chorus is at
least a tolerable length. I agree with you wholeheartedly
about An Eagle in your Mind though.. that song is beautiful
and mysterious.. Love it!

sneak: I guess the quality of Lowride will always come down
to taste. I'll admit, like Ophecks said, it's not the
greatest track ever, but it's enjoyable.. and seems on par
if not better than most of the lackluster Incunabula tracks.
P.S. windwind and 444 are good tracks too, I'll agree.

dawn chorus bothers me, though I think it isn't actually a
bad track. lowride, however, I think can be PROVEN bad.

ummmmmmm surripere has a nice opening. one of the best ever,
actually. Too bad I don't like how it goes psycho..

offline Wolfslice from Bay Area, CA (United States) on 2005-01-29 23:13 [#01481403]

Surripere is my favorite song of Draft.

Dawn Chorus and Julie both have melodies that come straight
from the heart, and are put together so beautifully that
they take me to a far away place... beatwise they are
nothing special but I know the songs came from the heart and
when that happens it's usually something special.

It is a great storyline, Fleetmouse. As for the recent stuff
I'd go with the "Manes" storyline as my current favorite :p

a good track around the most annoying sound in the universe.

where did you hear about that being the point of the track?
I think he just likes to do things like that to fuck w/
people
the come to daddy pappy mix is also pretty unbearable for me
as far as aphex stuff goes
I usually don't dislike many tracks from artists I like

my post isn't about a bad track just a bad part from a
track...

the beginning of Fenix Funk 5...that gay chime
noise...everytime i hear it i'm waiting for the queer eye
for the straight guy song to start playing...

i also have the image of stewie from family guy dancing in a
gay club, can't remember which episode it was....funny non
the less...

I'm telling you it's intentional. As a final joke ($80 for
two tracks, on an album named 'anal lord'), he makes the
beginning of side A the shittiest thing ever.

I cringe and laugh every time I hear that and the ultra gay
percussion cheese leading up to. and then shit starts to
break lose FROM MYEAERKA

They do have nice melodies, very heartfelt. I cannot argue
there.. I suppose it's just the technicalities of production
and some of the drums that get to me, not so much the core
of the tracks.

ps. sneakattack: don't be ashamed about still being obsessed
with forest moon. that track kicks donkey balls.
