What is the mini-mac like, is it powerfull enough etc...?

Is garageband anygood for making music?

Do usb products have to be mac compatible, hubs etc...?

Are there any good p2p/torrent/file sharing aps for mac?

"What is the mini-mac like, is it powerfull enough etc...?"

probably, what do you intend to do on it? If you already
have a keyboard and monitor the mac-mini is a bargain.
Probably won't be too good for 3D gaming but thats not what
macs are for really.

"Is garageband anygood for making music?"

i've heard its just a good beginer programme, there are
other good music programmes available for the mac. Loads of
musicians use macs to make music.

"Do usb products have to be mac compatible, hubs etc...?"

should be compatible, they use the same usb 2.0.

"Are there any good p2p/torrent/file sharing aps for mac?"

yes, acquisition is the one i use... i think its the best
but i haven't explored them too much.

"is it worth getting virus protection?"

not really, i've used macs for 5 years now and never had a
problem.

OSX is extremely easy to use, its the best operating system
there is

One of the benefits for macs on the net is 95% percent or
upwards of viruses and trojans are writen for pc's. The
downside is macs are notoriously shitty for internet uses.

Most usb hardware is compatible with any computer that has a
usb port. Mac, Linux or PC. All you need is the proper
drivers. If you are not sure, just look on the box. The
hardware will mention what kind of systems it is compatible
with. The downside to macs, is to upgrade them you
practically have to pull the entire thing apart. With pc's
just open the side panel and install what you need, no fuss
no muss (although my new soundcard took me an hour to
install, cause I had to figure out how the drive bay was to
connect to the board card and such. It took me 3 minutes to
install my video card, after turning my computer off).

Really, its all about preferance. I would never buy a mac,
cause I have found them to be less than reliable, and they
focus too much on making them pretty, and easy to use, while
making the more detail oriented and advanced applications
really difficult. The same reason I hate window XP.

Mac Mini looks powerful enough to me

Garageband isn't bad but it just doesn't do very much.

Peripherals should be fine, if they need any sort of driver
you should check there is a Mac one obviously

Aquisition and Solarseek are good apps for p2p, bittorrent
works too but I've kind of given up on that

I've never had a Mac virus in about 10 years

Macunlimited is a good mac broadband provider that I use

I had a friend who did the opposite, and he found his stuff
worked better from the start, and kept on working better.

You mac people just insult yourselves naturally, by owning
macs. I don't need to say anything further.
