How could I searchfor MP3's on my computer according to
their bitrate?

Such as: All MP3's of 192Kbps or more..

What is the purpose of this?

Because I have mp3's at 320+ and they're taking up space.
It's only MP3 so I'm quite happy with 192 as I can't really
tell the difference using headphones.

i cant' see how you can. but i agree with you, i've stopped
bothering with anything over 192. if i desperately want to
listen to it at full res, i'll buy it. my hearing is flat
anyway, too many late nights at rock city.

Just use Windows Media Player Library. Right click on the
heading at the top add Bit Rate to what is being displayed.
then click on bit rate to sort. Highight the ones over 192
right click and Delete and it gives you the option of
deleting from library or removing the file from the computer
as well.

I can list them all by Winamp I suppose but that's not very
useful as I can't change the bitrate from there. Fucking
computers. All I want to do is search by some damn metadata!

Ah you want to transcode them?

I don't want to delete them I want to convert them.

I gave myself an idea with metadata..

when you convert them they'll be worse than what they are
now..

if you're doing mp3->mp3, hm - make a smart playlisy in
itunes setting the hyper scientific parameter as
bitrate>blah and convert in itunes ?

Well I know that but as I can't really hear the difference I
don't care :P

ilfed. iTunes doesn't like this computer in the slightest.

Yes but they will be worse quality than 192 taken from an
uncompressed source. MP3 suffers from horrible generational
loss.
