What is the best regular expression for stripping html tags?

offline 010101 from Vancouver (Canada) on 2007-05-31 11:42 [#02089274]
Points: 7669 Status: Regular

Function stripHTML(strHTML)
'Strips the HTML tags from strHTML

Dim objRegExp, strOutput
Set objRegExp = New Regexp

objRegExp.IgnoreCase = True
objRegExp.Global = True
objRegExp.Pattern = "<(.|\n)+?>"

'Replace all HTML tag matches with the empty string
strOutput = objRegExp.Replace(strHTML, "")

'Replace all < and > with < and >
strOutput = Replace(strOutput, "<", "<")
strOutput = Replace(strOutput, ">", ">")

stripHTML = strOutput 'Return the value of strOutput

Set objRegExp = Nothing
End Function

i think that nixes anything nested too though. got anything
that'll recognize nested tags and leave the enclosed text?

Sorry Jason, that is the best I can do.

But have a look in that coat that you stopped wearing a
while ago, you will find a phone number that you forgot you
had. Phone them now. It's all good.

I think the Tuss is not RDJ. Why would he release similar
music to AFX/Aphex Twin under another name? Polygon Window
etc. was a diffrent direction, it doesn't make sense to me.

My best guess would have to be that it is indeed Brian
Whatshisname, some unkown who was dissapointed with the
direction RDJ took after Drukqs and felt a need to continue
the liniage.

Easy, breath in and out, eat and drink and although it may
be tough right now and you are probably sick of "Plenty of
fish..." by now. People are attracted to positive people,
suck it up and smile at attractive strangers.

(your regexp pattern worked fine on nested tags, btw)

[
this one also works, but i can't tell why it is so much more
complicated:

what is the capitol of burkina faso and what is its surface
area? can i go by bus?

offline 010101 from Vancouver (Canada) on 2007-06-01 11:38 [#02089546]
Points: 7669 Status: Regular

Ouagadougou

All that you need to know is HERE

Apart from surface area:
Land area: 105,714 sq mi (273,799 sq km)
Total area: 105,869 sq mi (274,200 sq km)

Public transportation is not safe. While urban road
conditions are fair, rural roads are in poor condition and
roadside assistance is not available. Travelers should
exercise great caution when traveling by land in Burkina
Faso. All but a few roads are unpaved, narrow, and full of
potholes. Livestock and children often dart onto the road
without warning. Road travel at night is especially
dangerous and, if at all possible, should be avoided. At
night, there is a high volume of truck traffic passing
through the country and pedestrians, bicycles, and carts
pose a major hazard on unlit, unmarked roads. Vehicles are
often dangerously overloaded and poorly maintained. Drivers,
including motorcyclists and bicyclists, are often careless.
The police rarely enforce traffic laws and are virtually
absent on non-urban roads. Emergency services are unreliable
and overtaxed.

Don't go by bus...

It won't get tighter but if the body is not producing
regular lubrication it may get drier over time, I hope this
answers your question.

Is it ok to take a lot of drugs and drive and then get some
prostitute to do drugs aswell and in the instant your get
pulled over by a police car you escape the vehicle leaving
her the main suspect?

if thats okay, i can see no reason to stop drugdriving.

Not really sure what your question is but if you require me
to condone drug driving, I wont, don't do it. If you need
some sort of validation to letting a hooker face the
charges, I would have to say it really isn't fair, although
due to her career choice she may be better equiped to deal
with the police from past experience. So, not OK, OK?
