(previously asked in other topic)
does this extra plastic holder give extra protection? is
it instead of the old papar ones? is it better then the
paper ones? wont the plastic react in any way with the
vinyl??
do you have to be careful with the balancing of the record
player needle so it doesnt wear the record out more then
necessary?
should i lay the record down so it wont blob out in time?
answers are welcome

you shouldn't take it out of the plastic, that will keep it
in good condition.

dont take out of plastic and never play them, that's the
best for the record, not for your ears

but really, this plastic my analord10 came in (not the
holder, the tighter fitting thing) is the new paper little
bag they were in in the old days?

i also like to add to big's questions: can
avarage/crappy/old needles wear the record out more then
necessary?

never playing them.

keep the records vertical and in a cool place (i.e., not a
90degree *F room).

don't lay them flat on the floor (and stack them) keep them
vertical and stack them "against" something

1.vertical
2.in the plastic holder

about 20 years :)

If you really are peckish, you should store them in paper.
My copy of the Caustic Window compilation in PVC-sleeve has
gotten some ugly patterns on the discs, like a discoloration
or something. It's has no effect on the sound, but looks
ugly nontheless.

On the other hand, the plastic on the analords is of the
kind that sometimes appear in the posh innersleeves. They do
not react to the vinyl in the same way as the PVC, so you
might just keep them where they are.
