Which of autechre's tracks would you most like to hear
live?

If none then just put 'N/A' in the box provided.

need to see some credentials before i answer or i'll surely
look like a fool!

as far as I've heard on bootlegs, they used to play bits of
tracks and make something new out of them, but stopped doing
that quite a while ago.

what I remember from interviews is that they'd rather make
something new on the spot than recreating tracks.

that's what you get from someone named after the McGuffin
from a Hitchcock-film.

ok, sorry for making no sense.

now seriously, i would like to hear them play their records
- the commercially available ones. but i want them to play
them with such items as drumsticks, electric wires, hammers,
plastic cups, balloons, sandpaper and live animals. that is
my request of autechre.

really? i can't penetrate this reference. it's way too
obscure for me. now i really feel foolish.

I would like them to play Aphex Twin tracks and repeatedly
shout either "SORTED!" or "WIKKIIIIID!" over them. yes.

reverbed "waaaaaankshoooooooot!" over the PA.

George Kaplan is the person for whom Cary Grant supposedly
is mistaken in "North by northwest", but it later is
revealed that George Kaplan as a person never even existed.

McGuffin is the term Hitchcock used for ".. a
PlotEnablingDevice, i.e., a device or plot element in a
movie that is deliberately placed to catch the viewer's
attention and/or drive the logic of the plot, but which
actually serves no further purpose - it won't pop up again
later, it won't explain the ending, it won't actually do
anything except possibly distract you while you try to
figure out its significance. More specifically, it is
usually a mysterious package or superweapon or something
that everyone in the story is chasing."

I would say the person of Kaplan was also a McGuffin.

aha! ok, thank you very much.

and i've seen north by northwest at least three times, so i
feel kind of dumb for not remembering the name. but it
isn't a particularly memorable name anyway...

I hope they play some really funky shit that you can get on
down and boogie to. Either that or a twelve hour set
consisting of one single droning sound.

the ones without their girlfriends have a great time, the
ones with their girlfriends get constantly interupted with
questions about when the noisy music is over and why on
earth they like it.

requests?

Gantz Graf, Squeller, Bilfill, or Surripere....but i'd be
more interested in hearing new stuff, my ears think.

Autechre tracks only?

From albums, in no order except bolded:

vl al 5
dial
surripere
outpt
6ie.cr
laughing quarter
left blank
lentic catachresis

I'd say something like reniform puls but I like those beats
better in private they are so fucking destructively fat

Gescom:

1) non-existant remix (i would fucking shit in my pants if
this were played)
2) boogie-down bronx remix
3) chunge

Unlikely also, but, MCR QUARTER
