I think the hostility towards people who bought Analord 10
is getting tiring. You didn't have to buy it, so shut the
FUCK up.
Case closed.

toby marks is english! most of his work is mediocre, some of
it is great. one of those artists you have to dig deep to
find the gems. sorry if that sounds pretentious.

does analog equipment store all the settings and changes and
stuff, or did aphex have to perform all these tracks from
scratch every time he wanted to tweak an aspect of them?

I had a three cd set of his Last train to LLhasha or
somesuch. Really quite unneccessary, but I did have one or
two good tracks on those old Ambient Dub compilations, I
think.

that depends on what kind of equipment he uses in his
bedroom i suppose :) i'd say he didn't record them before
he'd be totally pleased with it. i have never used that sort
of equipment though so perhaps someone else could help us
out with this. why is everyone ignoring epohs!!!???

maya is a great album. last train had a few good tracks -
getting bolloxed and listening to kinkajou duck asteroid
used to be one of my favourite pasttimes.

Tolstoyed...

"it wasn't meant for you. everyone who wanted it got their
copy and there were no complains so far. except from people

who are sorry they didn't buy it when they had their
chance"

um i ordered it...
I haven't received it
they've charged me
i've recieved a payment and shipment status message
awhileago but the nice folks at rephlex haven't answered any
of my questions thus far
and my order number is in the 250 range. suck it.

hmm, yeah, i forgot about this..but if you were enough of a
pahex twin fan to get a copy it surely won't disappoint you.
(kind of what i was trying to say). btw i was charged for it
on december 16th and haven't received it yet either. but it
always takes about a week for records to come here so im
sure i'll get it tomorrow or monday.

Really old equipment didn't store fader/knob settings. In
the manual of my Roland SH09 I got some patch sheets, which
were essentially just a drawing of the synth, and you could
draw in the various parameters for future reference. Some
later synths did have the ability to store pathces though,
like Korg PolySix, Memory Moog (a bit obvious) and The
Roland Juno series.

How Dickie did it I cannot tell but I'm sure he used synths
that couldn't store patches.

im from slovenia actually which is in the heart of the
europe but it still takes that long..i've seen plenty of
online shops that are selling 1&2 - check your usual shop,
if they don't have it im almost sure they have it in the
most awesome online shop ever: ab-cd.com, so if you're going
to get it from them get some other stuff as well, they're
full of wonderful records and they have awesome prices!

you should check out some of that early detroit sound .
ultradyne (especially) and drexciya. that's the closest that
comes to analord - expecially to those 1&2 samples.

I thought Analord 01 definitely sounded Detroity, which for
me, Detroit + Aphex is a polygon dream come true.

with :) thanks again!

dog belch, yeah definitely way more detroit oriented to
anything else, although can't be mistaken for anything else
but him..

I think Rich is using a sampler. For modular phrases, drums
and stuff. That, or he gets everything going and fades in
and out of things, but you'd have to leave everything in the
same settings while working on different equipment. So, he'd
have to work on one track at a time.

at least do some research before you vomit on here, moron.
All over the internet you can find the proper track lengths.
