Anyone know the kit that is being used?

I was just curious. He always seems to have drums that
sound alive.

some of the hand claps in xmd5a sound like they're real and
were used on drukqs.

and the drum tracks on Fenix Funk 5 sound like sample
slices..if thats a drum machine it sounds pretty darn good.
anyone know what unit produces drum sounds like that?

i hate hand claps, im glad the ones in analord are NOT very
loud , they are tucked away nicely, thx richard that alone
could have ruined this release for me.

i just sounds a bit too full to be the 707 but i suppose
mastering can sort that out

fenix funk 5 is 808 with the drums in the background...it
prolly could be 606 also, cos they are a little similar.

it could be multi layered drum machines and/or synthesized
drums on modular synth...

they are indeed pretty real sounding for analogue drums i'm
also very impressed...

hats off to rdj and very promising for other drumworks on
future analords (jungly drum programming...)

He is using only free VSTi drums and instruments on Analord.

Be that as it may, the response in that case would be "a vst
emulating XXXX drum machine"...it does sound like a 707
though.

The loop on Fenix Funk is chopped from a much-used funk
break, couldn't tell you which one but I recognise it.
Incidently this means he's used a sampler, which in turn
means the compositions on Analord aren't entirely analogue.

STOP THE PRESSES!

i'm REALLY not sure they are...

anyway have you heard of analogue samplers?

but, again, they aren't sampled IMO

APhex layers sounds. A lot. Like rim shots are layered on
snares in fenix funk. He probably has a jomox drum synth
too.

Give me a minute to listen, it's probably the Oberheim.

offline JivverDicker from my house on 2005-01-17 19:48 [#01464449]
Points: 12102 Status: Regular

I reckon it's the Oberheim DMX. It's got it's own sounds but
you can get an extra bit, a 'Prommer' to burn your own
samples onto a chip 'eprom' to place in the machine. It's
really crappy quality samples that sound crunchy and easily
seperated in a mix as they're soo different.
