Check around 4:18 in track fenix funk. The synth he uses is
called solo string.

Here is my example, compare it your copy cause I'm not getting
banned for posting afx's stuff hehehe.

Anyway my example isn't %100 to the song but if you play
around you'll get the same sounds.
I'm not some all seeing synth wizard or anything but I'm
making the very educated guess that this is it.
The Vst is called SOLO STRING by EPHONIC and I think it's
free too!

Get it here meng!

So anyway, just though I'd share this info with you guys
hehehe, peace!
Download my tunes!

i don't consider myself an afx fanatic and in no way do i
think richard d james is a god of any sort, but i think
someone in his position, who has been in the musical
business for so long probably has the actual gear and isn't
using plug-ins.

I knew it. I bet there's not a single analog instrument on
the whole thing. Just another prank from Mister.

wtf? there's lot of synths that can create similar sounds.
it's very unlikely he's using vsts. these are tracks made
entirely on analogue gear, as has been stated by luke
vibert. it's not named analord for no reason.

well, my friend, it made me laugh too and I got it from our
mutual friend mc_303_beatz in the following thread,
which is about the temporary demise of the Last Hidingplace
of Puberty, also known as livejournal.com.

"I was just surprised that after all you guys hyped this

yeah richard is known to use presets for his unique sound.
the entire rdj album was made with presets

[/sarcasm]

what is this wanker talkinga bout.

ok, look.

richard used a hardware piece of equipment to make a sound.

some guy spends who knows how long tweaking a software
plugin to sound like richard's sound, then proclaims,

omg it's coming from the same sourcE?!

what, im lost?

wanker,

sometimes musicians get very very sick, and we have to go to
the pound to get a new one.

rebirth - whatever.

It's just Karplus-Strong synthesis used there - you could do
that with analogue gear (for example, Doepfer's BBD delay
modules let you do this). Tracking is a different issue, but
I'm sure RDJ could get around it.

i have a secret to tell. i know richard irl and i helped him
on a few tuss tracks and all of analord and tuss was made on
computers with vsts. its true richard does have lots of
real analogue gear and he plays with it sometimes but he
never makes full tracks with it cuz he says hes scarred of
"wearing it out"
