calling all xltronic artists:

After our tribute to Iron Maiden (the Powerslaves cd and
12") which was so well received and critically aclaimed,
we've released a bunch of serious electro 12"s and that was
pretty cool to do. Since there's no way to ever top that
Maiden tribute, we were brainstorming and came up with
something. We were thinking of bands and acts we liked,
like, you know, Motörhead or AC/DC, or doing a metal
tribute to Underground Resistance. Then it came to us.

Let us pick one of the worst musical abominations known to
man, and honour them for it! SCOOTER! German
ravers/charttoppers with illustrious hits like HYPER HYPER
and MOVE YOUR ASS, or the recent WEEKEND or that one that
goes "HOW MUCH IS THE FISH!.." Screaming vocals with too
much delay, the sound of the crowd going wild in the
background, how can this become anything but BETTER in your
hands?

So we're putting together our tribute to modern day man,
modern day man with short blond spiky hair with a mic in his
hand that is. All over the world people have heard and
danced to SCOOTER, now it's time to take that music,
transform it, re-create it, improve it and give it back to
them!

the rules:
- It must be a COVER version of a Scooter song
- No longer than 5 minutes.
- When it's finished, send it to us on cdr or let me know
where I
can download a .wav - DEADLINE IS MARCH 30st. - Not everyone
can do HYPER HYPER, let me know which song you want to do
o.k.?
- Any style goes as long as it's
electronic / breakcore/ electro / techno / 8bit / noise /
mashup / ragga / dnb
- Don't email me asking me if this is a joke. It's not.
- C'mon, live a little!

please forward this message to anyone you think would find
this
project as amusing as we do,

respect to the man in the icecream van,

-vince / angelmaker records

I don't do: breakcore/ electro / techno / 8bit / noise /
mashup / ragga / dnb.

I do do: electronic.

I make things like this: example.

is this anywhere near what you are looking for?

or does it miss some form of spastic beat?

I like the last part the most, 3:30 and on

do I insult you when I say that this sounds bit like Mira
Calix?

ah, the faster part, yarr.

but the faster part only works because of the slower bits
before it. or so I try to bullshit people.

mira calix isn't an insult, no. I really liked "skimskitta".
although I don't hear the comparison immediately - yes she
uses her own voice, but in a different way, I think.
