 he's never been discussed before (he was mentioned in a  topic about kranky records)..he's making really wonderful  music, warm ambient sounds, nice straight beats (especially  on the submers album)..i love 'submers' but i couldn't find  any samples...there are samples of his latest album 'first  narrows' on boomkat

i think you'd like submers better..but they're both  beautiful really :)

i highly recommend the second and third albums, especially  the third, "first narrows."  warm melodies and deeply  submerged sounds (derived from improvisations with live  instruments).  maybe like the smoother, more melodic mille  plateaux stuff...  hopefully the new record will raise his  profile, it's really good...

the first one i just got in the mail today, so far it's not  as good, maybe a little dated sounding, he hit his stride  with "submers," i think...
