he's never been discussed before (he was mentioned in a
topic about kranky records)..he's making really wonderful
music, warm ambient sounds, nice straight beats (especially
on the submers album)..i love 'submers' but i couldn't find
any samples...there are samples of his latest album 'first
narrows' on boomkat

oh, there are some samples of 'submers' on brainwashed

i prefer the samples on boomkat. i want to buy this
album... that last clip is especially interesting. right
when it starts to rock it ends :(

i think you'd like submers better..but they're both
beautiful really :)

i haven't heard his first one yet though..maybe someone
knows what that one is like?

i highly recommend the second and third albums, especially
the third, "first narrows." warm melodies and deeply
submerged sounds (derived from improvisations with live
instruments). maybe like the smoother, more melodic mille
plateaux stuff... hopefully the new record will raise his
profile, it's really good...

the first one i just got in the mail today, so far it's not
as good, maybe a little dated sounding, he hit his stride
with "submers," i think...

only one cursory listen while at work, though...

hmm, it was rated the worst at pitchfork as well (although
that doesn't say much :)..

*spits at the ground at the mention of pitchfork*

if i had heard "triplepoint" first, i would have thought
it's ok but wouldn't have sought out the other records.
glad i heard "first narrows" first!
