I shouldn't just single out blues. all kinds of music styles 'borrow' progressions from other songs and artists and put some different singing or other little hook-type parts on top. I am not trying to defend Nickleback here, because I do really think they suck for more obvious reasons.

i don't know. if you search "how you remind me of someday" on google, you might find some more info.
it's funny in this context though. here is a quote from Chad Kroeger of Nickel Back taken from the bio section of the official Nickelback website:

the bio also states, ironically,
