in september i was on a trip and i came across an autechre
cd that i didnt have, i thaught it was one one of the eps,
it was plain white packaging with a black "ae" on the back
and standard copyright notices on the front. i was buying a
lot of shit at the time (being on vacation or whatever) and
didnt put any thaught into buying it along with a bunch of
other albums.

when i got back to my friends place where i was staying i
was going to give it a listen so i opened it up and as soon
as i looked at the inside side of the cover paper piece i
realized it was the album ive always refered to as lp5 but i
have seen elsewhere listed as just autechre self titled. the
xlt discography lists it as lp5.

i already have this release and the reason i didnt recognize
it as such was that this has different packaging, the one
ive had for years is the same as the one described in the
discography, with the opaque black jewel case
(pic) whereas this one that i bought has a
standard clear jewel case with black tray. the cd is silver
on both sides with only the nothing/warp logos on the front.
the tracks are the same on this release and i think this is
just a repressing with more conventional packaging.

this cd was new and shrinkwrapped at the time of purchase,
while i was away i did play it once, but you wouldnt be
able to tell that i did. besides for playing it once, it
just came back home with me wrapped up in my luggage with
all the other cds i had bought, so there are slight surface
marks are the outside of the clear jewel case from sitting
along side other cases, but its honestly nothing that would
look out of place on a new case anyways. since ive been home
its been sitting in a drawer.

i was thinking to sell it on ebay but ive never sold on ebay
before and it seems like more trouble then not, especially
if theres anyone on here who might be interested in buying
it directly.

roygbiv: yeah thats probably it, i just checked my black
version and it has no mention of the us/nothing on it.
speaking of my black one, does anyone else's copy have wierd
discoloration of the sticker on the front? (not the one im
trying to sell)

lp5 is a must have cd... and probably most of us already
have it

maybe some collector that wants to have all th releaes
(american and english) would be interested, but as it is a
very easy to find album I think you will find it hard to
sell it here

only my view
good luck

well yes i suppose, but surely there is someone who hasnt
yet bought it and would like to pick it up as new for
cheaper then retail.
also i dont think it is THAT easy to find, maybe now it is.
when i got my first (black) copy, i remember i had a local
shop in town order it and it didnt come in for months, and
when it did it was the uk version i guess.....and im in
canada. at that point way back then i never ordered
anything online, im sure its pretty easy to get that way.

I think warp keeps it printed most of the time... its one of
their more popular titles.

I might think of buying it off you if I weren't scared as
hell of buying things over the internet, and I hadn't
listened to it 20 million times already.

i cant tell the level of sarcasticness that your post
has...

and I hadn't listened to it 20 million times already.

do you own it or just listened to it as mp3s or a copy or
something.
if you really mean that you might think of buying it off me,
you should, i am on vancouver island, and if its just
because you are scared, ill let you recieve it first and
then send me the money.

but im pretty sure you are just being very sarcastic.

kind of seems like a lot of hassle for an in-print record.
do you have any records stores near you that purchase used
items?

yeah, that was my first idea. but honestly that seems to me
like more hassle then ebaying it or something.

A few years ago I bought LP5, but it turned out the EP7 CD,
which I already had, was in the case instead. Haha.

I bought another LP5 though, and on the second time I got a
real copy.

No. I love that album... but I had a friend burn a copy of
it when it came out, and I have listened to it almost 20
million times since. I don't feel guilty, cause I have
bought EVERY other cd and lp that ae have released, other
than an occasional rare release and grantz graf (which was
given to me months before it was released).

If you ever make it out to vancouver, you should try to get
trade at zulu. You will get about 6$ worth in a trade for
that cd.

yeah well i mean i could do the same here, ive been to zulu
before and have mail ordered from them a couple of times.
the most comparable shop here would be ditch records, i
think id probably get more the 6 from them, although ive
never tried that kind of thing.

you sure you dont want it? as i said , if youre concerned i
would reverse the standard order of things and you could pay
me after you recieve the item. im sure i could send it to
you for not more then a few dollars. i know it doesnt sound
like you have any intrest in it. but you are so close
geographically. its like fate you know.

Why are you so keen to sell it? There doesn't seem to be any
interest in it, and it's also a rare release (in the UK). If
I were you I'd either keep it as a souvenir, or give it to
someone you know.
