Safari (OSX) problem

wtf... Safari doesn't seem to recognize java anymore.

i didn't do anything. just, *poof*, it forgot javascript and
i can't use forums or some other sites correctly - i'm on
Firefox right now... i tried the "reinitalize" option,
deleting cookies and all, rebooting the computer - nothing
works.

any idea about how to fix this?

did you go to sun's website to just reinstall the whole java
thingeys?

also you might want to look tru the options panel to see if
something got disabled

Sorry. Well is it Java or javascript you are having problems
with? I assume it used to work and isn't just the well
known problems regarding the implimentation of javascript in
Safari. IF it is the former then are you sure you haven't
inadvertantly changed security settings?

Java and Javascript are two completely different things. It
is unlikely reinstalling the Java runtime would have any
effect on Javascript problems.

i don't know much about this ' _'
when i try to login on xltronic with safari (i logged out
because i noticed the menus to browse into topics'pages, in
topics with 50+ posts, weren't working anymore), it says
"Your browser has Javascript disabled. Please enable it for
proper use!" so i guess it's javascript...

i tried looking at the preferences already but i didn't find
anything...

You are probably best just sticking with Firefox for now.
Apple have a new version of Safari in development for
release with Tiger which should be out in a couple of
months. They have used a new version of the netscape (I
think it is netscape anyway) javacript plug in, which offers
full compatibility.

If you go to the Safari menu bar, and go to preferences then
use the security icon and check that you have Enable
JavaScript checked. Enable it if it isn't then close all
browser windows and restart Safri again.

phew
works again : )

i don't know what happened... i tried reinitializing Safari
and deactivating then reactiving "enable Javascript"
box in the preferences and this time it worked... still
weird (i don't remember ever unchecking "enable javascript"
box anyway), but as long as it works...

thanks!!
(and sorry ecnadniarb... i'm just kind of nervous lately,
with work and stuff going wrong... : |)
