(thats right, it deserves to be in all caps)

After getting the uncut DVD for christmas, I've decided that
this is still the best cartoon ever. It was excellent to
watch the behind the scenes and see that they never used the
same expressions (or avoided using the same facial
expressions) at all costs... Everyone on the team was
basically forced to be creative and no one was ignored when
it came to pitching jokes for the show...

A cartoon by cartoonists. What a concept!

"no one was ignored when
it came to pitching jokes for the show...
"

..looks like you should check out some of the Gainax comedy
animés... like FLCL (Furi Kuri) and RE: Cutie Honey... I
can't imagine any "suits" have gone through that saying "no
!"

well, they turned down jokes that were just crap, but they
let everyone have a shot at pitching a joke no matter what
their actual job title was...

I never really watched Ren & Stimpy that much. All I have is
vague memories of being disturbed while my brother was
watching it. But what I remember was great!

I only caught the tail-end of the whole ren & stimpy thing
when they were still showing the episodes on bbc2, but they
were nicely twisted from what i remember. I should get
myself some dvd/vhs action i guess.

I got that Uncut DVD
it f'ing rulz!

i think my favorite episode on there is 'Ren's Toothache'
but i am also a huge fan of the classic, "space Madness"
which almost made me piss myself when i was a youngster. ok,
not 'almost.' 'actually'!

plus, R & S is probably the most influential cartoon of it's
time. i swear most cartoons these days are borrowing from
Ren and Stimpy and/or Pokemon!

I never really liked this show . I think it is cause im
sensitive to all the icky stuff and the jokes wasn't really
that clever either imo.

they think i'm crazy, but i know better. it is not I who
am crazy. It is I who am MAD! Didn't you hear 'em?? Didn't
you see the crowds??... Oh my beloved ice cream bar, how i
love to lick your creamy center, and oh-so-nutty chocolate
covering! You're not like the others. you like the same
things I do. Wax Paper. Boiled football leather. Dog
breath! We're not hitch hiking anymore! We're riding!

haha, i've yet to watch every single episode again off the
dvd, (i'm savoring it)

but my favorite so far is the Powdered Toast Man where he
saves the Presidents cock from getting stuck in his zipper.

"pastor toast man"

more than half the jokes are very very discreet, and you
have to pay attention to all the hilarious facial
expressions and squishy sounds going on.

Oh i just remembered, Frank Zappa plays the Pope in that
Powdered Toast man episode :D

me a minute of one episode to realise). Weren't there people
on this board who liked that filth?

ren and stimpy is consistently awesome

they lived inside a homeless mans' mouth?

there was a couple of questionably 'gay' scenes, but as for
their homes, I can only remember the following:

Trailer, Tree, Underground (Hollywood, Yugoslavia), Normal
House, Spaceship, Birdhouse...

Theres so many episodes that I haven't seen in years...so
yeah.
