I have fallen in love with this release.
Anyone know why B12 retired, or what the chances are of me
actually getting hold of a copy of this. Nowhere seems to
have it.

Its ok, Ive got it on mp3, but cause it's been deleted for
years, actual CD copies of it are pretty rare.
Track 2 (Hall of Mirrors) is fantastic, reminds me of the
music from the game Rez but much better.

It's among my Top 5 ALL TIME FAVOURITE ALBUMS. I can't tell
you why, or what for, only the music of B12 makes me very,
VERY happy. And this is the virtual Holy Grail of all
electronic music.

eesh, I think it's about time I got back into the discog.
Maybe after new year I'll have more time.

Excellent album...it's damn near perfect. Heck all of B12's
music is just about perfect. As for Electrosoma....you can
still find it on Ebay. I literally just bought the CD
(Brand New-unopened...MINT) off Ebay last week and it came
to $11.00 with shipping. Look around on there....Ebay
usually has rare B12 stuff up all the time.

Heck right now they have Prelude Pt.1 up for auction, but
it's a little out of my range with Christmas here.

As for B12...well, I don't know anyone personally that has
contacts with them, but word of mouth has it that they have
retracted from the music scene for good and have a
successful life in banking I believe. The reason they
stopped producing from what I gather was because the lack of
attention and lack of any kind of music coming out of
Detroit. I guess they figured it was time to move on. Damn
shame too, because while they were heavily influenced by the
mid-late 80's Detroit Techno...I feel their music, while
similar in some regards was on a whole different level.
There won't ever be another B12, I can't see anyone being
able to recreate their sound.

The closest I have ever come to someone else making a song
that was extremely similar to anything of theirs was "LA
Synthesis - Positive/Negative." It's as if Steve and
Michael made the song themselves.

The only way I can think of trying to get into contact with
B12 would be through Ed and/or Andy (Plaid) or Kirk
Degiorgio (As One/A.R.T. label). Both The Black Dog and
Kirk were I suspect good buddies and even fellow innovators
from what I notice in the linear notes.

Maybe when that new A.R.T. releases comes out in Janurary
(Balil is on it) there will be some way to contact one of
them about B12. We can only hope artists go back to that
early sound and it catches on again...then I'm sure B12 may
surface again.

That's far too responsible and informative a reply. Drink
some alcohol and get into the Christmas spirit forthwith.

Did B12 not play at the recent Seed Records gig? (Can't
quite get it together to dig out the link)

I never really understood the B12-thing until last night. I
was driving home from the coast by myself last night and I
put this album on, just to give it another chance. Each
track came on and was a classic. I've been listening to it
for a few years, andt I hadn't thought much of it, but then
last night, the simplicity of the beats, the low-tech synths
struck home. Greatness.

this is still real easy to get. get the CD for sale on
Discogs.com...

http://www.discogs.com/sell/list?release_id=53102

but get the US TVT/Wax Trax! version cause that has all of
the tracks on it. the whole Warp CD album and the one
exclusive vinyl only track, which is in fact the best track
on the record.

i'm a huge, but new, fan of B12. i love them especially the
newer stuff, but this album is just plain bland to me. i
can't get into it other than, again, the one vinyl only
track "Drift" which is brilliant. i'm sure i'd even like
Time Tourist better though i don't have it yet.
