My dad's getting a new iMac 17" Widescreen G5 w/superdrive... he wants to get into doing stuff with Garageband and using his M-Audio MK controller. Can any of you Apple ppl recommend stuff for him... he's a freebie junkie, like me. ie. Cool sites (Graphics, Garageband stuff, VST, Synth stuff, applications) etc. Thx :D (I think it's weird he's never owned a computer and has barely used them and he picks his 1st one as an iMac) I told him to invest in some of the O'Reilly tweaker books or the "For Dummies" series. |

I don't know what the hell I'm talking about but google "sourceforge" (I think sourceforge.net). Apparently a bunch of experts make free music software or something in the name of open source or something. Audacity is one music thingy bopper or something. I don't know if there's mac stuff though or something. |

Riiiiiight.... Yeah, I was gonna say I already found Audacity... I've already found a ton of good Mac links and tutorial stuff for Garageband. Damn I'm jealous. I mean, 17" *widescreen*! Bastard. I've noticed the G5's got alot cheaper too. $1600 for a decent 64-bit Apple. Almost unheard of, compared to their previous pricing schemas. Tell him to sell his mac, then buy a pc, and then he can really do stuff, cause there is only, like, 5 good music programs written for mac, and they all require courses to enable you licences to buy the software. ITs a fucking fascist OS. |
