That Winnipeg hockey coach news snippet made me laugh when
it was followed by the distort-o kicks

honestly though, i haven't heard this or his last few
releases, so i cant comment. But I'm gonna take a wild guess
here and say that it probably contains lots of agressive
beats, harsh noises, and weak melodies.

"1.WINNIPEG IS A FROZEN SHITHOLE
2.WINNIPEG IS A DOGSHIT DILDO
3.WINNIPEG IS FUCKING OVER
4.WINNIPEG IS STEVEN STAPLETON'S ARMPIT
5.DIE WINNIPEG DIE DIE DIE FUCKERS DIE
6.WINNIPEG AS MANDATORY SCAT FEED
7.WINNIE THE DOG POOH (NOT HALF REMIX)
8.WINNIPEG IS A BOILING POT OF CRANBERRIES (FANNY REMIX)
9.DIE WINNIPEG DIE DIE DIE FUCKERS DIE (SPREADING THE
HEPATITIS SKM-ETR STYLE)"

what a tracklisting... : |
(i'm surprised to see Steven Stapleton mentioned?! does
Aaron like him or hate him?)

oh, and i don't know why, i listened to the track.
not awesome, but listenable... it's ok.
better than how i remembered Venetian Snares was.

irrelevant.

I don't understand the claim that all snares is the same...
I think his stuff is pretty diverse...

HCCBU / WITBOAS = nothing like this stuff

I think the one with the Hungarian title will be quite
different, in the same way that HCCBU was.

hehe, nice one. i wasn't thinking about that but you made me
laugh :).

and, weatheredstoner, if you notice this reply, i was
wondering...i downloaded some mix you made that had many
nice tracks. i was wondering which gridlock album to
download since you said you were a fan. i got formless and
it's pretty good so i'm wondering how their older stuff is.

Trace is like my all time favorite album. It shouldn't
dissapoint. Their older stuff is so-so. Its quite
industrial/goth/classic gridlock. Theres some gems on those,
but I highly recommend their Engram 12" EP (it should be on
soulseek). Its got 2 or 3 songs that didn't make it on
Trace, plus a few remixes by Funckarma, Proem, etc.

thanks. i'll definately get trace then. i haven't heard much
talk about gridlock in xlt for some reason. think they
deserve more attention.

yeah, usually the talk around here is whatever is comming
out/just came out, but its all good, even big hitters like
Bola only get weeks worth of chatter (if even that) before
everyone forgets.

Would someone ask him to PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD start
using a NEW BASS SAMPLE? I've HEARD THAT ONE BEFORE if I'm
NOT MISTAKEN.

heaven forbid he reuse a sample. Give the guy a break, he
goes through samples like xltronic nerds go through tissue.
Hes allowed to reuse some...

...thats gross...

meh...it's OK. Actually, it is boring. Actually, it's the
same as most of his other stuff. Instantly forgetable, but
listenable when you are in the mood.

Yeah its getting a bit repetative

I don't think its a sample though, I think its its a drum
synth

he's using the hardcore bass and the amen break, which are
both staples of hardcore tracks
like guitars and distortion are to rock
I like it
I just wish I could manage to move as quickly as the track
goes
haha

I guess I like it cause there are none of his melodies and
blippy noises that I so hate from snares' music. They are
really grating to my ears and give me a headache, but his
drum programming is fun to listen to.
