i really need a new, quieter case for my PC. I've seen loads, but theyallseem a bit too...novel, or superficial- not verypractical.
I don't want water coolingor anythinglike that, i just want a quiet, welldesigned case. [oh,and a new space bar for this college computer]
any ideas? ta

i always listen to music loud so i can't really hear it...and i learnt to ignore it...if i listen i hear it, but if i don't listen i don't :)

i've got the antec sonata.
it's awesome. very quiet, and it's got really handy removable bays that makes installing drives nice.

i don't use them all, but it's better to have them and not need them, than to need them and not have them.
...unless the extra space taken up by your tower is a concern.

first of all, make sure to eliminate the actual source of the noise. buy a quiet power supply unit (zalman 400w), cpu cooler (arctic cooling), and replace your graphic-card's onboard fan/heatsink with a kit from arctic cooling. if you have a small fan for your northbridge chip, replace it with a passive heatsink from zalman. mount all your harddrives with rubber pins. also mount all your extra chassi fans with rubber pins (papst is a good brand famous for their low noise).
when all of the above is fulfilled, get yourself that decent tower and make sure no parts are causing resonance in the box.

smaller fans = more noise
slap a 80mm fan on your cpu heatsink maybe a single 120mm for intake, single 120mm for exhaust
and a quiet PSU
make sure yer video card doesn't scream either

it's also very important to get yourself a case with support for 120 mm fans... you will cut down the noiselevel alot compared to 80mm fans....
compucase ci-6a21 would be my suggestion...
