hovering around in the distance as well

In no particular order

Kids fill the floor-Freescha
Talkie Walkie-Air
The Soundings-Blue States
Out of Nothing-Embrace
Lilies-Arovane

but to be honest the best albums I heard this year were
released before 2004 and they were

Technicolour/Di Go Pop - Disco Inferno
#1- Crunch

and the biggest disapointment was Codename Dustsucker by
Bark Psychosis, which I thought was going to be wonderful
and ended up being very average.

one album of the year on an IDM messageboard.
