Recently my mate and I took a couple of trips each at the
end of a three day rave bender and it was the best decision
we've ever made. They had the best IDM glitch stuff on the
radio, about 7 hours of shit I've never heard before, it was
like listening to the huture, he has about half an hour of
it recorded onto his phone. Anyweay we found out some of it
was Otto Von Shirach and I'm out to buy all his albums lol

Seriously the guy makes awesome music, fucking amazing
stuff. The weird thing is it can be a little vsnaresish (a
LITTLE) and whereas I dfislike snares I really really dig
this shit.

My mate reckons he has his LATEST latest one (not global
speaker fisting but this one who's name roughly translates
from spanish to english as "shivering") and I'm off in a
couple of hours to get a copy of it.

Also I heard he posts here, if he does YOU'RE A FUCKING
CHAMP MATE!!!

I was wrong the album I was referring to was called Escalio
Frio and it was from 2001

My friend lied to me :(
Or more accurately the guy he downloaded it from on slsk had
the details wrong or something lol or they were just OLD
details

I don't like otto. is just all dsp fuckery, with stupid
lyrics over it. but it can be funny as hell though :D

Ahh Escalo Frio. Pretty nice. You should also get Chopped
Zombie Fungus and Global Speaker Fisting. You might even
want to get 8000 B.C. , but I can't stands it, it's a little
too glitchy.

Chopped Zombie Fungus sounds good yeah (from the ~1 min
samples I have of the tracks on it)

Anyone have any other recommendations for some kinda... I
dunno I'm after really spooky glitch IDM, not snares :P, but
really fucked up carnival music, think Mr Bungle in 300
years, we heard lots of that kinda stuff so I know someone
makes it....

A couple of tracks of Snares' Songs About My Cats sound like
what you're after but you seem pretty anti-Funk. If you can
get over that though try Kakenrooken Stivlobits.

My mate recorded a lot of this set we heard that's some of
the best music ever, he has it on his phone, I'll TRY to get
the recordings onto mp3 and onto my laptop and then onto the
net tonight, see if anyone can identify the music, seriously
it weas like autechre vs mr bungle it was fucking mad

but yeah I'll have a listen to the stuff you said, *searches
for samples on net* lol cheers!

tell your friend that gaining music knowledge from peer 2
peer sharing on the internet is stupid :-p

and nod, otto is great; i find that most people who
appreciate patton think this stuff is hilarious.

I like glitchy, but I find 8000 B.C. is a completely
different style than his later albums; I like the later ones
oodles more.

i love otto - chopped zombie fungus is the best one

but he's pushing it to far sometimes.... 8000 bc is maybe
the most mature one - but it's getting boring with the
time....

just you wait till "impuketor" comes out !!

otto does an ep with only sounds of people puking... me and
roygbivcore have sended our live (i dunno about nigel - but
i went to the forest with two friends and recorded our pukes
live about 2 hours... i was kinda soaked :D) samples :D

and - the best part - on every copy there will be written
who sended his samples and we get copied of them :D

also, like, they play glitch/idm on the radio over in
perth?

there's one station here in adelaide (3d fm, i think) which
sounds like it's run by a bunch of hippies, but sometimes
they have interesting segments; i heard idm twice, but the
dj seemed pretty awful and had terrible taste (it was
boooring).

Best "dark carnival" atmosphere ever is on Tom Waits - The
Black Rider. You can make it be IDM by tapping pencils while
you listen to it.

good idea.

you are true asset to the IDM-community.

with just a small amount of everyday household-objects,
everything can be covered in a little IDM-sauce.

That's who you should collaberate with, od, ha ha. I've lied
and said I am him multiple times before so he probably
doesn't post here. He's taken things so far as to really
have his own subgenre of music. To me it's some of the most
amazing and interesting sound ever created. The last track
on 8000 bc is one of his multiple carnivalish tracks. Track
9 and 10, together, on global speaker fisting are a couple
of the craziest tracks ever made. I recommend crunch's 1
album if you havn't heard it. It's usually much more
relaxed, but is definately equal in sound wizardry.

Your Kate Bush avatar looks more like Katherine Helmond in
Brazil, have you noticed that? The part where they stretch
her face.

OK back online for a sec now, one of THE tracks from that
set was Yellow Staircase from Escalo Frio. I have it stuck
in my freaking head something fierce. Fucking sick tune.

We've been terrorising our mates by playing it all night
lol

Spose it makes for a change from the same old dnb vinyl
being played over and over....

Cheers for the info people!!

I'm running out of dexxies rrrgh it's still early
