Couldn't you just make one without it and I can tell you if
it's good or not?

niggalz/exhore used to do that. he made songs using a
soundcard he couldn't hear, so he had no idea what he was
making.

Actually I don't even think I can import wav files into a
program last I tried. I'll get a new soundcard soon
probably. I have my own collaberative song submission super
LXtransexual project mix contest idea too actually,
involving "lazers".

has like 3 other soundcards in a drawer that you can just
pop in until you get a new one..

RIGHT?

soundcards are like $5 these days; they're not brilliant but
it'll work for what you're trying to do.

Yeah, one is already on its way from ebay. Technically I
have a sound card, and had a driver that worked sort of well
with it, but even lost that. I just need a whole new sound
card with its own specific intended driver, so maybe I can
actually use my microphone and stuff.

better.

ha ha, hopefully the one I already bought on ebay will work.
Lately it's been hard making or listening to music at all
anyway since I'm so uninspired, no, more like infested with
mandatory unhealthy cheesy music viruses at my place of
exchange of goods or services for other goods or services,
such as pretzels (a good) and putting salt on pretzels (a
service). what?

I had posted something before about how I think we should
start one of these waste networks for electronic music.
I already have a waste server node, and would get it a
dynamic dns name if enough people were interested.

I agree. With all the recent smackdowns on bit torrent
sites, WASTE is starting to look rather good.

I just setup the client/server on my machine.

I'm still trying to figure out how one goes about finding
other users, and files and whatnot. Does one have to share
their key with other users to be able to browser their
files?

I say we reopen this discussion, and get the ball rolling on
an idm WASTE network.

Who knows more about this? Fill me in please.

How do we setup a WASTE chatroom?

does it actually have to be hosted on a seperate server, or
does the WASTE network handle it?

I am trying to chat with you now. I don't get it. It just
says network down and I can't connect to you. Load my public
key that I just sent you and see if that helps.

offline epohs from )C: on 2004-12-20 21:05 [#01432482]

yeah, fuck!

it looks like i need to have a static IP, or use one of
those dynamic IP services... but, i've had a really hard
time trying to figure out how to get that to work on my
machine.

my dsl modem is a fag, and doesn't seem to want to let me
pass my actual IP. because it is a router itself, and it
conflicts with my seperate wireless router.

I think I added your public key, but it's still saying the
network is down.

you've gotta do port forwarding on your router, which i
believe i've got a handle on, but there's the whole two
router deal that i just can't figure out.

me too, but, my actual IP address isn't the address of my
windows machine, it's the IP of my dsl modem/router.

in order to get it to work correctly you gotta pass the IP
of the actual machine. and, that's the part i can't figure
out. it's got something to do with the fact that I've
actually got two routers.

I need to figure out how to disable the router in my dsl
modem, and let it just be a modem.

But, since it's a crap modem, the documentation is shit, and
the admin panel is really counter intuitive.

log into the dsl router and see if you can change the
working mode to from router to gateway

if only it were that easy..

i've got to manually edit the PPPoE settings (there are four
of them i believe), and enable the bridge.

...whatever the fuck that shit means.

their manual? worthless.
their website? worthless.
the modem's admin panel? worthless.
