The text box's end up being slightly bigger and so take up
more room. When we get large posts (like the raver one)
won't the page get rediculously long? Are there now multiple
pages?

Yes, multiple pages are supported. Choose the # of messages
/ page and # of topics / page in your preferences.

Some prefer to split up the messages into multiple pages and
you could gain performance by selecting this as well since
the download time for each page decreases.
