[fucking computers] Vst and Windows problem.

Problem 1.

Everytime i start windows (XP) my Programs folders open.
I know there is somewhere where you can turn of these type
of start up activities but i have forgotten.

Problem 2.

Nowdays i can't use any VST instruments in Cubase SX cause
everytime i playback there is something fucked up hapening.

It sounds like you have the substain and release levels set
to the max , the notes just won't die off and it gets worse
the more notes are played (sound inferno). It is like the
VSTs just freeze up. This goes for all VSTIs so it must be
some Cubase or soundcard related issue. i also need to ad
that at the moment i don't have very much RAM memory , only
256 mb.
Only drumsynths work , they don't play notes.

Help.

which soundcard do you have?

it's common for the drivers to cause these freezes and
stutters.
try changing it from asio full duplex to just asio driver!

file - preferences - midi - midi filter

In controller section make sure AllNoteOff is there - if it
isn't there, add it

insh'allah

1. Uninstall Windows and install a tramp

2. Get an Atari and do all your sequencing from that

Do you have any idea how much a full duplex tramp eats?

also try to move \Documents and Settings\name>\Application Data\Steinberg\Cubase SX/SL\ somewhere
else and reload SX and see if that fixes it. Of course you
have to exit Cubase before you move that folder...

or you could always uninstall that pile of crap called
Cubase and install something a bit more stable

please note: the above said statement is the opinion of
the writer, and should be taken with a pinch of salt

I've tried just about every host and I hate them all. I'm
going to have to learn C++ and program my own goddamn host.

could you port it over to Mac OS X too?

you could call it "FleetBeat Composer"

I've never managed to get a vst plugin working. Ever ever
ever. The programs i use just won't recognise them (or
directX plugins either, for that matter). I hate technology
and want to kill it quite painfully.
