Sony Vaio T Series
The portability factor is fantastic. But the processor kinda scares me:
Intel® Pentium® M Processor Ultra Low Voltage 733 (1.10 GHz, 2MB L2 Cache)
Would it be able to handle Reaktor, Live, Cubase, FlStudio 5 that well?
Im thinking about picking up a 12 inch powerbook or one of these little sonys.
Thoughts?

The M (centrino) processors are oodles more efficient than the P4s from what I've heard. They do more than P4s per clock cycle - apparently the P4s waste cycles sitting there holding their dicks. M series Spozed to be very good for Reaktor. Make sure the bus speed is nice and fast.
The only thing to watch out for is make sure there's a bios setting you can check to run the processor at full clock speed constantly - otherwise it will keep switching to idle mode to save power. I think most of the M based laptops have this. Obviously if you have it plugged in and you're sitting down making music you don't want it switching to low power mode randomly and adding glitches. I mean unintentional glitches. :D

Oh wqhoa whoa whoa - 1.10 gHz? That's a bit on the slow side. I'd get something a little more kickass than that - 2gHz or up.

The screens are tiny...If there is one thing you need when running music apps it is screen space. At least that is what I think.

Yeah I've concluded that these vaios are a little underpowered.
I want a laptop that can easily be whipped out and played with. I'm kinda thinking powerbook 12 inch at the moment

if its centrino then the Ghz processor speed is always slower, but yet in 'real world tests it works better then a P4 2.8 Ghz' or so i heard.

with something that small you can't have a processor that produces too much heat. I think that's why they've only been able to go for 1.1GHz. Mobility over speed

Pentium M is an awesome processor. Very power efficient and quick. It's based on the PIII architecture which was fantastic. The new dual core pentium chips will be based on the M processors. Intel themselves have admitted that hte P4 just wasn't a good processor. It's just clockspeed that has kept it where it is but now that's really hit a barrier with their current hear output.
pantalaimon: I'm getting the old work G3 :D

I just got back from the mall, checking the sony store so I could get my hands on the T series. Its fucking smaller in person than I had envisioned. Looks amazing but...
After leaving, I knew I was going powerbook instead :)
